Yes, I made a note of this in my review which was published on Sunday.
http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/53716...of-christ-the/ Earlier in the year the whole Rushmore "Director's Cut" issue pissed me off--with not a single reviewer bothering to investigate or report if the cut was different. There was not a single comment across the board. Anyway back to LTOC: Can you verify if the dropped dialogue has been fixed from the 2000 DVD? There were two missing lines of dialogue during the stoning of Mary Magdeline scene.

Question: Was that the way it was in theaters? I'm assuming this had to run past Scorsese, no?

re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
every month I await Badlands and Weekend. I'd love for them to release some later day Godard, Numero Deux and Hail Mary would be nice. And some more Fassbinder since the bulk of the DVDs are now out of print from Fantoma and Wellspring. Lastly one day McCabe and Mrs. Miller will get a proper release, if there is a god.

re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Pardon if it's been mentioned recently, but I haven't kept up with this thread: Has there been any official announcement of a replacement program for either the Three Colors or the Carlos discs?
Thank you. |
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Both have replacement discs available at this point I think. Just email Jon Mulvaney.

re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread

|
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
announcements have been delayed until tomorrow :(

re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
What is the point of delaying a release announcement? How could they not know what they are releasing?

Also, if you look on Criterion's website, you can see that they have pulled the artwork for Inagaki's Samurai Trilogy.
Would make my month if thats announced on BD today. |

re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Yay on Hitch and Chaplin. I like all of the covers except for the Shallow Grave one which looks like one of those Criterion parody covers.

re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Good stuff! About time we got another Chaplin film. I really like the cover for it. Plus, more Hitchcock!

Defiantly excited about the Gold Rush, mostly because it means City Lights is getting closer.

Picking up Shallow Grave for sure as I watched that a week ago and loved it. Probably pick up the 39 steps as well.

Damn, Gray's Anatomy has been speculated for what... a decade now? Excited to see it coming out.
|
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Their first decent Chaplin cover! I'm in for Gold Rush and The 39 Steps. The others would be rentals, only Netflix likely won't carry them.
|
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Nice month, I'm all over The 39 Steps and The Gold Rush, hope City Lights won't be too much longer.

Watching The Sorcerers for the first time last night, I was thinking what an interesting double-bill it would make with Being John Malkovich:
