New Moon AQ was great & the PQ was good as well.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon - A very long movie in which virtually nothing of any obvious consequence happens. I'm sure it's an important transition from Twilight to Eclipse, but as its own movie? No plot thread or character arc really had any meaningful conclusion or payoff. My wife loved it, though, and I scored points for enduring it.

Frost/Nixon - Great performances, which is interesting because President Nixon was actually much less emphatic in his speech pattern than Frank Langella's characterization. Still, the essence of the man was preserved and came across very vividly. This was a man who was completely overwhelmed by one of the most public scandals of all time, and yet clung fiercely to his belief that he had not done wrong. Regardless of your politics, this was a very interesting look at a very compelling human being at a very unique stage of his life.

Sherlock Holmes. Very good picture quality with zero DNR, only some minute ringing, and only one problem shot were ringing was awefully apparent (but it is an aberration that is never repeated). The sound quality was top notch, with solid (if not seat-rumbling LFE), district mids, and clear highs that are never harsh or bright. The score in particular sounded fantastic.

The Men Who Stare At Goats - Bizarre film without much of a plot. If a good majority of it weren't true then I probably wouldn't have been half as interested in it. Jeff Bridges is awesome, though, as is Clooney. PQ was good, but never striking. AQ average. Mediocre extras.

Toy Story 1 & 2
Bolt

Pitch Black (HD DVD) - Hadn't seen this one in a while, forgot how slowly it moves. You don't get any real creature action until there's about 30 minutes left in the film. Plus, the CGI work really looks shoddy in HD. I still think Chronicles of Riddick is the better film.

Dirty Harry/Magnum Force double feature.

Magnum Force is the superior film or at least i liked it better than Harry.

Family Guy Something, Something, Dark Side or whatever it was called.
Had funny moments but overall just a so-so.

Taking Of Pelham 123 Never saw the original but this was an OK movie. If you're looking for a taught thriller with a twist at the end you'll be disappointed.

Bonnie and Clyde.

Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths - Still don't like the character designs or the dreadful voice work (except Woods who is perfect). But the action is good & its worth owning for Owlman & the awesome Spectre short (as well as BR exclusive pilots). Good looking AQ also.

Howard's End. An amazing film indeed. I'd never before seen this Merchant-Ivory production. The story was truly captivating, and the performances amongst the best I have seen anytime recently. I was actually rather surprised by how much I loved this.
