The International. I enjoyed it even more this second time around. It looked gorgeous on Blu-ray. This is really an awesome movie IMHO.

Passengers - Great PQ/AQ. Shots of Vancouver were nice to see. Movie dragged a bit at times. I'd rate it a 6.5/10.

The Dirty Dozen - Hard to believe I'd never seen it before. The PQ is really all over the place - some sections looks excellent, and others look like a notch above VHS. The film itself was tremendous fun, with a great cast, obviously.

Fired Up!

I liked it, I, I, I liked it. Sarah Roemer is hot as balls.. but Eric Christian Olson must at least be like 47 by now so I don't know why he's still playing a High School kid.

The International. PQ & AQ were good but the storyline just blew. Great cast with a third act bump of near goodness but overall a waste for me.

StormRiders- PQ is all over the place. Colors are oversaturated, and there are times when the images look as though you're looking through a muddy haze. THere are times when it sparkles but they are far and few between. definately an upgrade for the SD but, it's not ready for primetime.

Outlander. Great storyline & the PQ & AQ were great as well.

Currently watching American Psycho. Lousy transfer. Pretty good audio, though. Can't really ask much for $10, I suppose.

Revolutionary Road. Brilliant film, with some of the best performances I've seen in a film all year. Great PQ/AQ too.

From Russia With Love. Forgot how action packed this film was...and the boat and fuel barrell scene towards the end, whoa!!! That scene in blu just really highlights that it is one of the better action set-pieces ever created. Also, neat to see Turkey in 1080p, my aunt has lived in Turkey her entire life (she is from Italy though...sicilian).

Just finished watching Gran Torino. Solid PQ and AQ. Very good movie and excellent performances throughout.

Watched Taken a few nights ago. Cool movie.

Today, the kids and I watched Star Trek: The Motion Picture... that was a boring movie. But the PQ and AQ was impressive. Now on to the far more superior Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan!

The 400 Blows. This really is a brilliant film. I'd never seen it before, rented it with Netflix, and now plan on picking this up very soon. I loved this movie so much that I just have to add it to my collection.

In The Realm of the Senses
. Well, that was disappointing. This movie is good for it's analysis of sexual obsession and cultural taboos, and how things can always go too far to drive people down dark paths. However, there were things in this movie that were just gross (and I'm not referring to the graphic sex), and the characters had little to no background information given. There were also plot points that should have been relevant that are mysteriously not in this film. It was an interesting film... to an extent. But I'm glad I only rented this. I don't see myself wanting to watch this again anytime soon.

Watched Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan last night... great film... but to me the PQ was lacking. Too dark for me.

Role Models. Meh. I enjoyed it, to an extent, and it was certainly cute enough. It wasn't very funny though and doesn't warrant repeat viewings. I can't believe that I blind bought this just because I found a good deal on it when I wasn't even sure I wanted to see it. It's a good thing I use Netflix now. Anyway, Elizabeth Banks and Paul Rudd were both pretty good in it.

re: Last BD or 4K UHD disc you watched?

Recently:
Star Trek: The Motion Picture
Star Trek II : The Wrath of Khan
Star Trek III: The Search for Spock

Very much enjoyed all three, being a Trek fan of the old school. I have a soft spot for TMP, despite its many flaws, and it was a treat to see this faithful reproduction of the theatrical release my wife and I traveled to NYC and stood in line to see so many years ago. II and III are better films, and the transfers are OK, and I enjoyed them.

24 - Season 7 Rented from Netflix, finished the last two discs yesterday. Didn't watch it when it aired. A good season, I thought. PQ and AQ just OK, but fine for a TV show.

Timecop on HD-DVD. Occasionally fun if silly. Decent transfer, not great.

The Italian Job the remake, on HD-DVD. I always liked this movie, looked real good in HD.

re: Last BD or 4K UHD disc you watched?

I decided to do a Disaster Movie Marathon today and watched the following:

Dante's Peak. Way better than I remembered it being. It was cheesy in parts, and obviously it's unrealistic, but I truthfully enjoyed this film. Pierce Brosnan and Linda Hamilton were excellent. A keeper.

Daylight. Not even close to as good as I remember it being. I still enjoy a few of the films sequences though. I'll be getting rid of this one.

Twister. Not as good as I remember it being, but still fun. I like this movie and I think I'll be keeping it. It's got a really effective cast which makes it all the more entertaining.

Then, to end the night, I put in the silly comedy Billy Madison. Which was terrible. I took it off. Another one to sell... at least I followed this by an awesome episode of Psych (on DVD though of course).

Fired Up Maybe I was just in the right mood, but I really enjoyed this movie a lot, if it ever comes down in price I'd recommend it as a good blind-buy. It was surprisingly funny, I didn't like the two leads that much, but they weren't awful, & Sarah Rohmer is just too hot, looks like a really young Cate Blanchet. Didn't think the PQ was all that great though, audio was excellent.

My wife and I watched my HD-DVD of this a few weeks ago. I'd never seen it before. It turned into a game of "predict the next disaster movie cliche," and we had a lot of fun. But yeah, Brosnan and Hamilton were very watchable.

Last night: Planet of the Apes on BD. Very impressed with the transfer, and have always loved the movie. A treat from start to finish.

The Wild Bunch - One of my all-time favorites. What's truly wonderful about Blu-ray is being able to revisit films I've seen dozens of times, and have it be an entirely new viewing experience.

Gigi - An excellent transfer with some really beautiful colors. Chevalier is as graceful as ever, even at age 70.

Yes Man. Good movie, cute, but maybe not worth owning (unless I can find a copy sometime for cheap). I am glad I saw it though. It was better than I expected.

Ghostbusters. Loved how it looked and sounded. Thought it was funny a few times when the demon dog was chasing Lewis you could see a small box around it. Glad I picked it up, looking forward to checking out the extras today.
