Watched my copy of Body Double from Indicator Media and it was great. It's the best its ever looked or sounded. I watched in its original stereo soundtrack and it was great! It is region free, so for those that missed out on the Twilight Time release then head over to Amazon UK and buy it.

Sea of Trees the latest from Gus Van Sant.

Maybe not the happiest movie to watch but not as bad as the rating at rotten tomatoes.

Mr. Church...this was not a good movie. Not well done at all. Maudlin, then falsely sentimental. Very disappointing.

The Big Trail--1930. John Wayne.

The dialogue and acting are really stiff and dated, but wow, it's a visually stunning widescreen epic that looks great on blu. If you like westerns at all, I'd recommend seeing this at least once.

Star Trek Into Darkness (3D)...absolutely stunning. A thrilling and near perfect chapter in the series. For some reason liked it more the second time around. Was riveted. 3D looked spectacular as well. Only nitpick is the ill received Spock yelling of Khan, but totally forgivable. I was hooked.

Hey, I loved him in Dreamgirls and really did think he would get the Oscar. So when I saw the trailer that he was doing another drama I was all for it. Of course, the 15% on RT soured my anticipation and unfortunately it hit the mark. He was one note and this part required some emoting. But the whole thing was just a mess. The writing was terrible. Britt Robertson, this was not the place to showcase what some believe is talent. Even McElhone who was supposed to be the emotional crutch came off as phony. Nothing worked with this one for me and I was thoroughly disappointed.

Star Trek Beyond (3D)...not as good as i first thought when I saw this in theaters. Was not that fun for the first half. I don't know what I saw the first time when I gave it 4 stars. Was much more entertained by Into Darkness. And as I said when saw in theater, the 3D sucked. The bluray as well. Actually switched to the 2D presentation and it was much more vibrant and colorful. Oh well.

Interesting. I blind bought the 2D blu-ray and throughout the movie I kept thinking "Ooh, I bet that looks great in 3D..."

I'd have to upgrade my receiver for 3D capabilities but I always keep good 3D titles in the back of my mind if someday I get the itch to convert.

BTW, I really enjoyed ST:Beyond. Thought it was better than part 2 and on par with part 1. Though it was bittersweet every time Anton Yelchin was on screen.

X-Men: Apocalypse

It took 2 nights to complete since SNL and waking up before 10am for the NFL on Sundays interfered with watching the full 2 hours and 24 minutes in one sitting.

At least Eddie Murphy can tap this even though he has made nothing memorable since the late 80's.

re: Last BD or 4K UHD disc you watched?

Had seen this in the theaters and wanted the wife to see it. It was a fun but wholly unnecessary reboot. Watched the extended cut that added a few worthless scenes with a boyfriend and a few longer scenes of action. All-in-all no improvement. Found it interesting that many of the scenes that would have been 3D, break the 2.35:1 barrier and extend to the whole screen. Kate McKinnon stole every scene she was in.

Kriten Wiig is a local girl so it was fun watching the blooper reel. She had some nice gaffs.
