Last BD or 4K UHD disc you watched?

Not sure why I rented this since I was not all that fond of it in the theater. Wife decided she didn't like it and went to bed. It certainly has some laughs but way too many f-bombs for her. I stuck with it but stick with my original assessment that none of the leads are very likeable and you hope they would all fall into the volcano. They purposely made the groom a little boring but I found he was the only character I cared about in the movie, because he was getting crapped on by everybody.
Aubrey Plaza is hot and I love when they make her crass as all hell.

I thought the outtakes between her and Kendrick to be funnier than what was in the movie. She does do crass well. There were certainly some good lines. "Knuckles deep in cousin Terry." I just found that I didn't care about the four leads because they were such self-obsessed a'holes. Even the bride was so goofy you had trouble feeling any sympathy for her.

Not sure when they were released but a budget BR of While You Were Sleeping and Sleepless In Seattle came out and I picked them up last month. Last night we watched WYWS. Although not technically a Christmas movie, it takes place at Christmas so we usually watch it this time of year. Wasn't a high quality release but it was better than my old DVD which I don't think was even an anamorphic release.

Ended up binge watching the last couple discs. Had no idea whatshisface was going to be playing Neegan.
Afterwards I went back and re-read some of the threads with people watching the eps as they aired.
While there are certain nits I could pick with some blatant contrivances, watching the shows back to back they mostly didn't affect the entertainment value I got out of it. If I wanted to dwell on them, the things that really stand out as big logic holes mostly occur in the last eps events. Among several nonsensical decisions that the characters make, there's no reason whatsoever that the apparently intelligent Neegan wouldn't single out the leader of the group to make an example of and keep the rest in line. So Season 7 is going to obviously start off with an eye roller.
But all that aside, I ended up enjoying the season mightily after feeling a lot of burnout early on. It seems like that's becoming par for the course with this show for me. The last season I watched the first few eps, lost interest and shelved it for several months before picking it back up and finishing it.

Short (43 minutes), but brilliantly crafted BBC earth doc with some of the most easy on the eyes 3D I've seen in my set-up yet. Negative parallax shots (the in your face stuff) are kept to a strategic minimum, but the depth aspect is extremely well utilized in both the forrest and desert settings, especially when conveying the worm's eye viewpoint of the main characters.
But the 3D is just an extra layer of tasty spice to what is an extremely well composed duo of slice of life narratives overall.
If you're a fan of 3D and things like Planet Earth, this is highly recommended!

The Salvation...predictable, but excellent little western. Mads kills it. Cinematography is stellar.

in addition to working my way thru a backlog of Warner Archive MODs-
The first four eps from

It will be interesting to see how much of a cohesive whole this show seems when it's all over. It feels misshapen to me and the frequent kills and cast changes simply help mask the basic soap opera framework.
Right now, while still enormously entertaining, it strikes me like this will follow a "...and this happens, and this happens, and then this happens and then it's over."

I was hooked the first ep, but after the second it's become intermittently engrossing while more often making me go "WTH?".
While I never read the book, it seems like a the typical King book I have read- a rich premise that kicks off well but gets lost and sort of shambles thru the final act.
Was going to parcel this out slowly to savor it, but it honestly hasn't been quite that good. Will probably polish off the last two eps tonight just to clear space off on the shelf.

To Live and Die in L.A...got to say i pretty much disliked this one from start to finish. the acting was terrible, the story even more so and that heralded chase sequence was really nothing special. i really thought the movie was so amateurish that i can't believe Friedkin directed it. liked the twist at the end, but overall very meh. disappointing.

Finished the last two eps last night.
I found the ending to be mostly satisfying, despite being somewhat predictable.
It's the main thing I was referring to with the "WTH?" comment. The way that whole thing plays out I found very awkward and seeming to be missing quite a lot of connective tissue that could have made it seem more natural.
I'm guessing that addition was a concession to concision and exposition.
Now that it's over I'm wishing it had been longer. The two main characters and their relationship were charming and I'll miss being in their company.
Wish they'd allotted 10-14 eps for this instead of just the 8.
Overall Franco did a fine job.

Watched The Conjuring 2 this evening. These Conjuring movies give Exorcist some good competition.

I like Rogan and enjoyed the first one for what it was. Should have trusted my better judgement and waited until this hit the $1 shelf.
