I hope they stall long enough for the disc to come out.

Thats what I was thinking. This might be a preorder asap deal in case they take it off the market or something.

Anyone with any experience with this kind of issue have any recommendation of the best online retailer to pre-order from in terms of likelihood of the disc getting to my door before any kind of halted sale/recall situation?

Sorry, I was directly following the last couple posts, so I didn't see the need to quote.

Raging Bull... which has been my #1 most-anticipated announced title since... the day it was announced!

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part III

Wizard of Oz and Gone WIth The Wind, 2 movies it seems need to be in my collection but I never watch. Last time I saw GWTW was 20 years ago, my wife and I watched it on video tape while she was having contractions waiting to go to the hospital for my son. Picked up 2 DVD versions and didn't watch either one. Wizard I've got the SE, but besides popping in over the rainbow haven't watched it.

I'm guessing at some point I'll grab the Blu's and not watch them either.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part III

They better release them in standard BD cases and not those gigantic boxes like I Am Legend and Casablanca.

If those pictures are any indication, seems like WB is heading towards only offering those extremely expensive additions for some of their classic films. Means that I'll likely hold off for a release that doesn't contain items that hold no interest to me but increase the cost at least $20 like postcards and other collectibles. Tempted to just buy the HD DVD of Casablanca due to this.

I kept my HD DVD for that reason - I don't want these huge sets unless its a movie I love. Even then, they should bring these out in standard 1 disc sets for people that have no interest in Ruby Slipper keychain and Tin Man coffee cup.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part III

The boxes can be a pain to store, and I can't image the thinking behind placing I am Legend in one next to either of these two films. It's like history is repeating itself with WB and the bigger sets.

I know the original poster only posted a link to these on jan 9, but this artwork has been around for many months. I doubt if the final artwork is anything like this.

I'll get Wizard of Oz. I've watched the DVD quite a bit. Never saw Gone With the Wind though.

On The Waterfront? Holy shit.
