Its some scrolling text on Weinsteins BD-Live application. Some are mentioned as coming soon (like Zack and Miri, Fanboys) along with the other titles I listed. Then some has actual BD artwork (Osama, Boy A). I don't follow a Theatrical releases that close so I have no idea if they are new thratrical release or direct to video.

There's an ad for this in the newest edition of "Home Media Magazine". This is one title I never thought would get the Digibook treatment. I'll be buying though.
It looked really good when they played it on, I think HDNET Movies. Either that or UHD, either one, they played it, it looked good.

Looking forward to this.

Falling Down is a definite purchase. A personal favorite, Joel Schumacher's best film and substantially quotable. I hope they call it the "Now You're Gonna Die Wearing That Stupid Little Hat!" Edition.

According to Jeff Kleist of the Digital Bits, Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick should be appearing on BD around the release of the new video game (3/24/09).

Also, here's some random titles from releaselists.com. This site is pretty accurate, but not 100%.

March 17
All 4 Batman movies, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

March 24
Bond Wave 2, Quantum of Solace

March 31
8 Mile

April 14
An American Werewolf in London

June 9
Ghostbusters 1 & 2

August 4
Pulp Fiction

I can't believe how long it takes Universal to release their titles to Blu-ray.

Batman, Batman Returns, Quantum of Solace, American Werewolf (permitting it's improved over the HD DVD), Ghostbusters, and Pulp Fiction are all musts for me.

An American Werewolf in London will be improved over the HD DVD. The director, John Landis, had attended a horror movie convention back in the Summer and confirmed that the BD will have a new 90 minute documentary.

That was probably unintentional but it's good seeing a date for the Riddick game. I don't think they had released any info on game's release date yet.

The actual discussion was a "late March" release. I went to Amazon.com and found the 3/24 date for the game.

Ahh, either way Amazon listing a day is the first thing I've heard resembling a release and I've had my eye on it for over a year now.

Err...it came out already. Well, its been pressed and some copies leaked...
I should also add that list ignores a ton of other Universal HD DVD ports that are still "scheduled" for release in that timeframe. We'll know more at CES as the schedules continue to change over and over. At this point, it appears titles can even be pressed yet held back for 'tie-in' releases (Pitch Black/Riddick/Ghostbusters I and II). I so wanted Ghostbusters in October

Amazon's UK site has "Monster's Inc" listed for June 1st. I'd guess chances are good a US release will happen. Hopefully on the 2nd.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part III

BBC's Bleak House heading to Blu-ray May 5th.

From TVshowsonDVD.com...

It has always been recognized as one of Charles Dickens's literary masterworks, but this Bleak House is now fast moving, daring, gripping television. Here is the murder mystery, the love story, the comic genius and the tantalizing scandal of the novel but, stripped of its sentimentality, we find ourselves swept along by a pulsating and edgy drama.

Out of an interminable court case spin three young people, each seaching for their place in the world. The story moves fast - swirling through a incredible array of characters from passionate young lovers, from an ice-cold aristocratic beauty to a shrewd, relentless detective - until the final thrilling climax. With a screenplay by Andrew Davies (Pride and Prejudice), Bleak House features a galaxy of major stars from feature film, television and comedy.

The BBC's 2005 production of Bleak House, which quickly got a bare-bones North American DVD release in February 2006, is getting a new Special Edition release on May 5th. Starring Gillian Anderson (The X-Files), Denis Lawson (best known as "Wedge" in the original Star Wars trilogy) and Charles Dance (Alien³, Gosford Park), it will be available this time on both DVD ($39.98 SRP) and high defintion Blu-ray Disc ($79.98 SRP).

The new Special Edition will contain Audio Commentary, Interviews and a Photo Gallery; details on these extras are still to come. The DVD release will feature an anamorphic widescreen video picture with English - Stereo audio and English subtitles. The early info this morning shows the exact same specs for the Blu-ray version, but we're wondering if that info's accurate (or if the DVD info just got accidentally duplicated there). We'll let you know. Running time is 461 minutes for 15 episodes, on 3 discs each for both DVD and BD versions. Stay tuned for cover art!
