Yeah, I know. I should have said I hope they will also release them individually, like they did with the Die Hard movies.

I'm sure they will, but I'll guess it won't be until Q2 at the earliest. Same goes for the Dirty Harry set. They'll want to see how well the sets sell during Christmas and Q1 '09.

Doesnt really matter to me, I really didnt like the remake much - but if they're throwing it in I'll let it sit on my shelf with the rest of them.

Paramount Adds Extras, DTS-HD MA to 'Top Gun' Blu-ray
Thu Jun 05, 2008 at 11:00 AM ET
Tags: Disc Announcements, Paramount (all tags)

Announced last week for a July 29 arrival on Blu-ray, Paramount has now officially confirmed specs for 'Top Gun,' which will outgun the earlier HD DVD version with multiple high-res audio formats and several new-to-high-def bonus features.

Unlike the bare-bones HD DVD (released last November), the Blu-ray edition will port over all of the supplements found on the previous special edition DVD release, including audio commentary (with producer Jerry Bruckheimer, director Tony Scott and co-screenwriter Jack Epps, Jr.), the featurette "Danger Zone: The Making Of Top Gun," a multi-angle storyboard comparison, still gallery, music videos and TV spots.

Tech specs include 1080p video, English Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround audio (identical to the HD DVD) and in a first for Paramount, a DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 6.1 Surround option.

Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $29.99.

Good, cause that's the only good one. The last SD release had spectacular picture quality.

Omen 2 is just as good. They excluded part 4 though. Probably burned the originals!

I'm getting the Night/Day Watch films!

I think I'm the only one who liked Day Watch.

I hope you mean the picture quality only. Because that film was terrible.

I just rewatched Kingpin last week - that movie is definitely in need of a new transfer - so if they do that right, it's a must own for me...one of the most underrated comedies out there.

Do we know anything about 2 Entertain Video? Do they do region-free blu-rays? This is my #1 must-have title.

They released Planet Earth and Robin Hood - Complete Series 1 in the UK on BD and both are region free.

This would break my no-imports rule (re: too expensive). I would LOVE this on BD.

Very reliable blu-ray.com member, Geonosis, has some heads up on some titles many here will scoop up:

Subject to change, of course.

September: Baby Mama, Knocked Up
October: Serenity, American Gangster

I think it's safe to say Forgetting Sarah Marshall and The 40 Year Old Virgin will release near the other 2 comedies above.

Awesome! Yeah, no way they won't release Marshall along with Knocked Up (and 40YO). Odd that it would take that long to come out on DVD/BD...it was released in March theatrically, right?

Serenity in October = Firefly in October! Yes!!!!
