Yes! Unadulterated liter-of-cola assaults in 1080p!

Super Troopers will be mine, and Kingpin too, a very, very welcome surprise for the format, not my first guess or want, but I never owned the first DVD and will welcome this one with welcome arms.

Spoiler:
Some great moments in this: Woody Harrelson forced into "pleasing" his landlord and the ensuing vomiting session, and Chris Elliott's "indecent proposal" .

Bill Murray OWNS in Kingpin, by the way.

It seems like each year we get one big catalog title to be released on DVD and BD for the first time. In 2006 it was Reds, last year it was Twilight Zone: The Movie, and now this.

I wonder why it's an Amazon exclusive though.

Nice to see Sony continuing to bring foreign films to the format domestically.

Some more info on Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me from dugpa.com:

A few Details on the Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me Blu-ray DVD

It appears that 2 Entertain Video will only be distributing the new Blu-ray DVD and that MK2 will be responsible for the extras. I can only assume that they will be similar to what they have already released and that the transfer will be straight off the original Hi-Def transfer on the current MK2 release, only this time, it will be completely uncompressed.

An Amazon.com exclusive? Is this a new thing? Very odd. But I just pre-ordered it.

Not sure if this goes here or the foreign thread since it is a US movie but a non-Domestic release.

Neverending Story NL Blu-Ray is due this week.

Specs (per AVSForum):

Beeldformaat: High Definition 16:9, High Definition 2.35:1
Geluidsformaat: DTS 5.1, Dolby Digital 5.1
Ondertiteling: Nederlands
Talen: Engels
Uitgever: Dutch Film Works
Genre: Fantasy

Word has it that it is region ABC. Keep your eyes peeled @ xploitedcinema.

Review over there comments "mage is 2.35:1, sharp and colorful, but the source has some age related speckling scattered throughout." With no edge enhancement to note. English DD 5.1 at 640 kb/s and DTS 5.1 at 1.5 mb/s. The movie starts right away after a couple of logos and Dutch copyright notices. The movie defaults to Dutch subs but they can be toggled off with the subtitle button. The pop-up menu is in english and features chapter selection and audio set-up only. There are absolutely no extras. The cover features the english title on the front and spine, but the blurb on the back is in Dutch. The disc comes in the thicker Blu-Ray case and has an insert touting other releases from distributor Dutch Filmworks. The disc surface text is also entirely in english over a facsimile of the cover artwork.

(Credit goes to Nissen over at AVS).

I'd be all over a hidef release of The Neverending Story. That said, I've always hoped for an SE to someday emerge. The dvdtalk review for the original SD DVD (which at least includes the trailer) mentions that Wolfgang Peterson has recorded several audio commentaries for his films. Seems like a good candidate for a SE w/ commentaries, docs, etc. Perhaps Warner will eventually do something for a US release?

I agree, even with the lowest price I've seen for the import 33 bucks seems still to high for no supplements.... oh please Warner's. I believe the snapper-case has gone out of print and was recently going for a cheap price over at Borders.

Can we keep the non-US releases in the foreign thread, please?

I actually asked that earlier, is the foreign thread for foreign movies or foreign releases of US movies?

Didn't get much of a response.

I'd say it's for any release someone in the U.S. would have to import or buy imported, regardless of the origin of the film itself.

Figured as much, but "Foreign Cinema on Blu" just doesn't sound right for it.

it kind of doesn't, you could easily also say 'Foreign Cinema with Jam' or 'Foreign Cinema tastes like glue'

(I'm hot, tired and wanna go home and take a nap).
