I dunno..it seems like most of the problems with Blu Ray have been on Java implementation - thats according to the CE manufacturers - the idea of constantly evolving Java applets that serve little purpose related to actual movie watching ...scares the hell out of me...
I really don't want to deal with having to get (or most likely have to wait 1 month for an update) a new firmware everytime some great producer decided to implement some dinky little Java game....oh and I thought the games and online interactivy with HD DVD was pointless too.

I don't see the point to it yet, but that wouldn't be a stumbling point, it's not hard.

Firmware is going to be part of HD, so we'll all have to deal with it. I'd rather have firmware provided, as opposed to a player that can't receive upgrades and can never be improved.

As I said, this is a pointless and unnecessary feature, and a waste of resources. They should focus their efforts on creating useful downloadable content that people might actually want to use.

I'm not interested in the AVP gimmick anyway. If I wanted to play a game, I'd do so on my 360/Wii, not some buggy/choppy game on my Blu-ray player. I tried playing "The Fly" game on my PS3 and it was horrible.

Great, so instead of Fox releasing the many special editions they only released on DVD the past year and a half (and are continuing to release in the coming months), they'll just re-release the titles already out with new interactive stuff.
