Yup and they are some of my favorite films that Synapse has released so far. I agree about it being amazing that they are even being considered for BD.

Doesn't surprise me that Lemora is among their first choices. They've been talking about the amazing restoration they did on it for years now, and it was rumored to be getting a BD release almost as far back.

Wow, that really sucks. I own all the Corman Blu's so far and even have Starcrash pre-ordered.

It's still tentative, but Don just said he hopes to have their first BD -- The Image -- out in January. It sounds like the 42nd St. Forever comp (the first two volumes - a few trailers + a few other trailers + commentary) will follow around February.

I'm in for "The Image". Maybe the trailer comp, if I could get a good price on it. Aren't most of those trailers pretty beat up? Seems an odd choice for an HD release.

I'm guessing the trailer comp isn't so much a picture quality benefit and more a storage capacity length of time benefit. IE they can fit twice as many trailers on there without sacrificing any of the image quality.

Yay!
The Hammers in question, by the way, are Vampire Circus, Twins of Evil, and Hands of the Ripper.
We haven't... it's still out... (But things are looking good for a Blu on all three Hammers. We just gotta work the numbers and see if it makes sense.)
We'll decide soon. The announcement will be in a month or so. If we go Blu, it will definitely be announced at the same time as the DVD.

I can't wait for the 42nd Stret Forever blu-ray, being a trailer junkie, the 42nd Street Forever DVDs are some of my most beloved discs.

I have to believe that those Hammers will be bigger sellers than many prior picks by Blue Underground on Blu-ray. They should also stand to benefit to a greater degree in the jump to 1080p than much of the current catalog.

According to http://www.releaselists.com, Daughters of Darkness is coming on 12/21, but no release year or distributor is mentioned. I assume this will be the 1971 version, and not the TV remake from 1990?

Thanks for the confirmation. Here are the specs and extras from that link:
The cover art is also superior to that of the previous BU DVD, though it's a pity The Blood Splattered Bride apparently isn't included.
Blue Underground has announced plans to bring the 1971 Harry Kümel directed horror film “Daughters of Darkness” to Blu-ray Disc on December 21st. Tech specs include full 1080p Hi-Def in the 1.66:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Mono sound. The title is not yet available for pre-order over at Amazon but stay tuned and we will keep you updated. Bonus materials set to be included are listed below.
* Audio Commentary #1 with Co-Writer/Director Harry Kümel
* Audio Commentary #2 with Star John Karlen and Journalist David Del Valle
* Locations of Darkness – Interviews with Co-Writer/Director Harry Kümel and Co-Writer/Co-Producer Pierre Drouot
* Playing the Victim – Interview with Star Danielle Ouimet
* Daughter of Darkness – Interview with Star Andrea Rau
* Theatrical Trailer

Still a nice set of extras though, especially when you consider that a lot of new releases don't even come with a single commentary, let alone two. Blue Underground continues to impress.

I'd like to upgrade my whole hammer Horror collection to Bluray. That is if they are ever re-released in Blu. Any word of any of the other Hammer titles upgrading to Bluray?

I typically don't rebuy most movies I have on DVD in BD, but the Hammer films are a notable exception. I'd rebuy them in a heartbeat (providing the transfer is good and the extras are ported)

I don't want to rebuy a lot of standards to bluray either but hammer is a must have. I don't even care that much about the extras, just give me the whole movie on blu with a improved transfer and i'm there.

The commentary is being edited as we speak for the bluray edition. Look for a full announcement soon.

DVD Beaver on Vigilante
Yet another BU Blu that Netflix doesn't carry.
EDIT: Though the Amazon pre-order is $15.49, or 48% off.
