Maybe it'll have a transparent slipcover that adds panties?

2-Disc LE had a different cover, but I'm fine with either. I'll probably hold onto my LE and pickup the BD anyway.

Already got the 2-disc LE DVD. Not really interested in upgrading, esp since I haven't even watched it yet.

Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray

The latest word from Don:

The titles are never officially announced with dates, only that we acquired them. Right now, we're shooting for December for VAMPIRE CIRCUS, with the others to follow in early 2011.

TWINS will follow CIRCUS, with HANDS and the HAMMER HOUSE OF HORRORS coming last.

And, yeah, we are thinking of Blu-ray, but no definite decision has been made. We're currently thinking of our Blu-ray strategy for new and old titles, so if we do Blu, it'll be announced when VAMPIRE CIRCUS goes official.

I never got the LE, only the single-disc version. I'll upgrade only if the blu has all of the features from the LE.

I wouldn't be surprised if it ports everything over. The Two Evil Eyes Blu ported everything over from the original LE DVD.

From http://templeofschlock.blogspot.com/...address-4.html :

At the moment I'm preparing to record the audio commentary for Synapse Films' massive trailer compilation 42ND STREET FOREVER: THE BLU-RAY, which runs a staggering 3 hours and 40 minutes and will hopefully be available for purchase by February 2011. Most of the track will be recorded this weekend.

Agreed. The Hammer fan in me can't really complain because they aren't available period right now in region 1, so if they only come out on DVD I am still satisfied. But damn I'd like to have those (especially Circus) on blu.

You leave old grindhouse trailers on in the background at parties? Sounds like a party I'd like!

I think they're still eyeing this and The Image as their first two BDs, so it's a mix of both.

Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray

Also:

There IS a chance that titles like LEMORA, LONG WEEKEND etc. may see the light of day on Blu. We're looking at the possibility of doing exactly what MGM is doing with some of their releases (like ESCAPE FROM NY, ROBOCOP, BULL DURHAM, etc.). Putting a DVD + BD combo together with the BD being just the movie-only HD version. 99% of our extras aren't in HD anyways, so we'd just include the DVD for the extras. Honestly, this is the ONLY way we can justify (and economically put out) some titles in Blu.

We could package the new Blu encode with the older DVD for a decent price and, as long as they sell, it would give us the opportunity to release some Blu-rays that, otherwise, wouldn't see the light of day because of costs.

I would gladly buy stuff as BR/DVD combo with just the movie on BR. The movie is all I care about having in HD anyway

I know many of us are clamoring to have our favorite Cult/Exploitation titles on BD, but as Don May mentions many times on AVManiacs' forums, it's expensive. I'm happy that many of these films are even getting any release period. Also as Cliff from Shout Factory has said over on those forums, even their BD's for Death Race 2000 and the more "popular" Corman titles have been selling slowly/poorly.

I think Don has mentioned that Lemora and Long Weekend are amongst their favorite releases at Synapse, so I'll gladly double dip if they get the BD treatment.
