Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray

The first BD from Synapse is two 42nd St. Forever titles? I can think of a dozen of their titles I'd rather see first.

I really want to see Street Trash and Brain Damage!

Maybe it's a licensing thing.

I believe their rights to Brain Damage lapsed, but Street Trash is on the short list (copied/pasted upthread) that Synapse first listed:

Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray

That's a shame about Brain Damage. The SE they put out was fantastic pq/aq-wise and had some great features.

I saw Street Trash on the short list, but I wanted it on the now list!

I'd just like to see any film from Synapse on BD simply because Don May, Jr. is such a transfer whore that I know anything he puts out will look flawlessly spectacular.

I like the weirdness of Circle of Iron, I'll probably pick that up.

in regards to Zombi - I thought I had read in Rue Morgue that there's even a longer cut of the film we (the fans) have yet to see - I hope the eventual bluray release, uses all the supplements that both DVD editions had.

Seriously? Ugh...

What's so hard for companies to understand that most of us would like all extras ported over?

re: Blue Underground on Blu-ray

from Blu-ray.com:

Blue Underground has announced that they will bring the controversial horror film 'The New York Ripper' to Blu-ray on September 29th, day-and-date with the DVD release. Video will be presented in 2.35:1 1080p VC-1 accompanied by both 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio and 7.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtracks.

Extras for this release include:

* “I'm an Actress!” – Interview with Zora Kerova

Not my favorite Fulci, but it's better than none.

Agreed. Also it's a plus because it's a Fulci film I never bought on DVD

Woo-hoo for BD Daughters of Darkness!!

Though the SD Special Edition (which includes The Blood Spattered Bride as an extra) already looks quite good.

The two I want aren't listed in the ad.

Larry Cohen's "God Told Me to" and "The Prowler.

Damn.

re: Blue Underground on Blu-ray

Blu-ray.com:

Blue Underground has announced that they will bring 'The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue' to Blu-ray on October 27th. The film, also known as 'Let Sleeping Corpses Lie' and 'Don't Open the Window', will be presented in 1.85:1 1080p VC-1 accompanied by a 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack.

Known for providing both DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD soundtracks on their releases, it appears that Blue Underground has decided to go with a single DTS soundtrack for this release. No word if this will be the company's new policy on soundtracks, or if we will see a TrueHD soundtrack on future releases.

Special features for this release include:

* Back to the Morgue – On Location with Director Jorge Grau
* Zombie Fighter – Interview with Star Ray Lovelock
* Zombie Maker – Interview with Special Effects Artist Giannetto De Rossi
* 2000 Interview with Director Jorge Grau
* Theatrical Trailers
* TV Spot
* Radio Spots
* Poster & Still Gallery
