What I saw though was damn good stuff, anyone that has Le Cercle Rouge is aces in my book so I'll let you slide for having Good Luck Chuck
& the Austen Powers movies. That aside our tastes are very similar. Maybe you have some, but you are in need of some Goddard.
Also check out Elevator At the Gallows, Le Samourai, & Touchez Pas au Grisbi, if you don't have them. Also you would love the Lone Wolf & Cub series, they are a must-own.

Wow... nice collection. You own a lot of good movies. Your missing some of my favorites, but you also have some that I don't own. So it goes.
If I had anything to recommend it would be to add some animation, anime, and television into the mix. There's some great stuff out there and it was a real shame to see a complete lack of that on your DVDAf list. If it's because your unfamiliar with television I suggest: Lost, Alias, The Twilight Zone, Batman: The Animated Series, Cowboy Bebop, and Trigun to start.

^ well, you like Zombie movies so I'd definitely suggest "Plaga Zombie: Mutant Zone" and "Wild Zero" .. 2 of my favorite Zombie flicks.
If you enjoyed "The Orphanage" I'd recommend Jaume Balagueró's "Fragile".. You may have to import it, but it's a terrific film.
Also, If you liked "Street Trash" I'd recommend "Body Melt"..

I'm not sure what you added to your collection but it still looks awesome! Keep it up! Just listen to my earlier recommendations and see what you think. You'll discover some neat stuff.
Anyone want to take another look at mine? There's tons of title I want that are still missing - especially classic films (For example: I love Alfred Hitchcock films -- I've seen most of them, and yet I only own The Masterpiece Collection and Lifeboat).
I'd like some recommendations from anyone who thinks they can sense some films/shows I might like based on what I already have. And disregard the "Watched/To-Watch" aspect. That's so I know what to watch after purchasing something. 90% of my entire collection I've seen before but maybe not since I purchased said item.

Mine is my signature. Watcha think? Although that's kind of a stupid question, everyone has different taste in cinema. But still...
Also a nice big picture of my collection on that site as well.

War 2? I'll give you a C for quality (it's too Blockbuster Videoish) and an A+ for quantity. You do have an excellent cartoon collection though.
I like your wife's collection more...I mean, who has the DVD of Rachel Papers besides her?

New to this forum, needing my collection rated. I refuse to get rid of any of my DVDs, so I apologize now for some of the crap in it haha. But if you could, make any recommendations that you think I might like.

Surprisingly better than I expected. It's really interesting watching Bryan Cranston's character rise and fall throughout the show, taking Aaron Paul down with him. I find myself wanting more after each episode. It's a very simplistic concept, but done in a very entertaining way.

Re: Rate My DVD Collection
Hello,
I'd like to have my collection rated,
and even more-so, I would love to get some suggestions for films I might like that I'm not aware of.
Link is in my signature. I wrote some custom software to emulate the old version of DVDaf a couple years back.
Thanks!

2. "Submit New Title" (on right hand side)
3. enter all dvd info.
4. hit "Manage Pictures" (on left hand side)
5. hit "Submit" (when finished)

If you (as I do) enjoy No Country for Old Men seek out Walter Hill's Extreme Prejudice (stellar cast). Along the same lines and considering your taste for the Coen Bros - why is there no Blood Simple in your collection?
Expand your war collection - Hell in the Pacific (Lee Marvin and Toshiro Mifune), The Longest Day, Cross of Iron, Come and See. The last two are classic anti-war films. You may also want to consider Letters from Iwo Jima, Clint Eastwood's excellent war drama told from the Japanese perspective.
Edit to add - how could I possibly forget Army of Shadows!!?? Absolutely brilliant and insightful film about the French resistance during the Nazi occupation.
Sci Fi - can't go wrong with Children of Men or Gattaca. Perhaps even blow it out a little and try out Outland with Connery, Andromeda Strain, Stepford Wives, Logan's Run or some classic Tarkovsky stuff; Solaris and Stalker ....
These may not live up to your tastes - but each are quality films in their own right.

Re: Rate My DVD Collection
It is an interesting notion to rate other peoples DVD collections but it seems that it would all depend on individual taste in movies, not to mention the size of each collection. Other factors such as the rarity of titles, niche markets, boxed sets, etc... could also dramatically alter a rating of any given collection.
My collection is specifically taylored to my tastes and would likely be rated very very highly by someone with similar tastes but would probably be rated very poorly by someone with different tastes. Then there is the problem of numbers, each of us having collections varying from just a few to a few thousand (or more) which means that someone with 5000 movies is probably not going to think much of a newly started collection of just 10 movies.
Granted, there are exceptions to every rule and there are those who would try to give an honest opinion, taking into account various factors that could affect the way in which they would rate a given collection but to be honest, I think it is just not possible to rate a collection fairly on such a broad scope.
However, there is an appealing aspect to saying "Here is my collection, rate it." I suppose it is sort of like gambling. I may have to give it a try if I can ever manage to completely document my collection.
