As for recommendations... I guess I would say I notice a lack of Robert Rodriguez films such as Desperado or Sin City. I'd collect those. You seen to like some decent horror flicks so I'd also suggest Sam Raimi's Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness. It's my personal preference to skip the first one but you might want to start at the beginning.
I hope your collection continues to grow.

Anyway, I appreciate the suggestions. I'll look into them. I've seen Sin City and while I liked it (and boy is it aesthetically gorgeous), I didnt love it at all.

Okay, I've always been pretty proud of my collection. I've owned a DVD player since December '99, the same one actually that's lasted me eight years (thank you Toshiba), and I am actually very picky with my DVDs. I'm of the old school that just likes to own movies that are sort of fancily shot of with a lot of f/x and action (and I do have cable, so I don't feel the need to own every movie. This is not a knock on people that do, but anyway. Over the years, I've cleaned out my collection of stuff that I really didn't need (Rush Hour 2, Resident Evil, Mystery Men, The General's Daughter, Godzilla (1998), among others).
I think for the most part that it's a good collection, even though believe it or not in eight years I've only aquired about 125 DVDs. I have a few nice exclusive editions, which I'm proud to have. I don't have DVDprofiler or any of those subscription lists, so here's the collection, with little notes here and there:
-8 Mile
-Abyss, The - Original 2-disc Special Edition (from 2000)
-A.I.: Artificial Intelligence
-American Pie - Original R-Rated Version
*The theatrical pie-f*cking scene was funnier here.
-Armageddon - Original 1998 release
*Had the Criterion edition, realized how unneccessary the whole thing was.
-AVP: Alien vs. Predator - The Unrated Edition
*I've been meaning to get the Alien quadrilogy for years, but for now I figure I get two for the price of one in my collection.
-Batman Begins - Deluxe Edition with Slip Cover & Comic book
-Batman: The Animated Series - Volume One
-Batman: The Animated Series - Volume Two
-Batman: The Animated Series - Volume Three
*Volume Four looked weird.
-Battlefield: Earth
*An impossible movie to defend, but I met the producer before the movie was released, and got to go to an advanced screening, so it holds a special place in my heart. And without the sound, it's just a lot of space-ships exploding.
-Blade II - Original 2-disc release
-Bourne Identity, The - Explosive Extended Edition
-Bourne Supremacy, The
*Never saw these until a week before Ultimatum came out. A friend lent them to me, loved them, bought them, and then...
-Bourne Ultimatum, The - Best Buy Steelbook
-Casino Royale (2006)
-Chicago
-Daredevil - Original 2-disc release
*I've been meaning to get the "Director's Cut" for some time, but I never had any problem with the theatrical version, and I hate the idea of owning two different versions of a movie that I had a buy seperately (but the second it's on sale for $5, I'm there.
-Die Hard trilogy - original 2001 release in box
-Dune - Extended Edition
-End of Days
-Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within
*Never played the video games, but as the first photo-real CG movie, I think it's important historically. It's also gorgeous to look at.
-Freddy vs. Jason
*Same logic as AvP.
-Gangs of New York
*Far from a great movie, but I love industrial era epics, and this one had a great performance by Daniel Day-Lewis and really rich production design.
-Ghostbusters - Original 1999 release
-Ghostbusters II - Original 1999 release
-Ghost Rider -Circuit City 3-disc Deluxe Edition
-Gladiator (2000) - Original 2-disc release

-Jeepers Creepers - Original Special Edition

*Still mean to get The Lost World, but have been having trouble finding it.
-King Kong (2005) - 1-Disc release
*$2.50 at Best Buy on Black Friday. Booyah.
-Legend - 2-disc edition
*Got this as a gift, but it's interesting to see the two different versions of the movie. I wish they'd give this treatment to The Avengers movie from 1998.
-[I]Live Free or Die Hard - Best Buy Exclusive Steelbook
-Lord of the Rings Trilogy - Extended Editions
*Never saw the point in owning the theatrical, too. The extended are just as good, and they're longer, too!
-Matrix, The - Original snap-case release
-Matrix Reloaded, The
-Matrix Revolutions, The
*Bought them all separately, don't think I'll upgrade to the mega-10 disc release since I'm not much of an extras hound.
-Men in Black - Limited Edition (2000 release in all-black case)
-Men in Black II
*So-so movie, but it was $5 at Best Buy.
-Mummy, The (1999) - Ultimate Edition

*Still have the original sleeve in perfect condition, it's quite pretty.
-Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - 2-disc Special Edition

-Red Dragon
-Robocop - 2007 Steelbook release
-Scream trilogy
-Shaun of the Dead
-Silence of the Lambs - MGM 1-disc Special Edition (2001)

-Transformers (2007) FYE Exclusive "Autobots" Steelbook
*I also have the Target Exclusive that turns into a toy. I couldn't decide which was cooler, so I kept both.

And to domino harvey:
"Steam punk" is a sub-genre of science fiction in the same vein as "cyber punk." Whereas cyber punk combined elements of sci-fi with noir (Blade Runner, Dark City, Johnny Mnemonic), "steam punk" is basically where you have a story take place during the industrial era, from roughly 1840-1920, but there are elements of modern-day sci-fi casually inserted. For example: the giant spider in Wild Wild West, just about everything in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Other movies like this would include Van Helsing, Steamboy, The Prestige, and even Frankenstein. It's basically showing advanced technology in a time that clearly didn't have it.
And for some reason, it fascinates me, even though 75% of the movies in this sub-genre stink.

It's rather difficult to rate a collection with only 78 movies especially when one hates wrestling. A couple questions however:
Do you not like the original Halloween more than the remake?
You mention Dark City in your reply above but don't own it. How come?

2. I enjoyed Dark City, but never found it particularly entertaining. That's not a knock on the movie in any way. It's atmospheric, beautiful to look at, and has a very well-structured story, but I never find it particularly "fun" to watch.

This answer really sets up my response since you already mentioned before you like a lot of f/x & action and now the "fun" part. It appears you fall under the I just want to be entertained crowd and have narrowed your selection to mostly films that contain action and the like, so asking those on this forum to rate your collection will more than likely lead to those bashing it since it isn't diverse, doesn't contain a wide array of foreign & art pieces, or those made before 1990. Not to mention many enthusiasts here wouldn't consider 78 films a legit collection. However, it is YOUR collection of films & wrestling that you like and that is most important, so don't be offended if you don't receive many responses or positive ones for that matter. Thanks for replying to my questions.

Wondering if you guys could rate mine? See my signature. Just a few notes though...
- Battle Royale is a bootleg, I am unable to find a copy anywhere online that I know is legit
- Dawn of the Dead is signed by both Foree and Savini
- The Hills Have Eyes (2006) is signed by an actor that played one of the mutants, not sure which.

No, I'm not offended. As I said, I have cable so if I want to watch a deeper film like Notes on a Scandal, Little Children, or The Good Shephard, I'll watch it on TV and probably appreciate it (I used to write movie reviews for a website, and generally have pretty high standards), but these aren't movies I want to actually own.
Most of the DVDs I purchase have to be not only entertaining, but well made. While Die Hard, Speed, Ghostbusters, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. are not considered to be "high" art (though the whole "high art, low art" discussion is best saved for another time), these films are the best of their kind.
I could never become one of those people that have a huge film collection. For one, I just don't have the time (school, work, girl), and there just aren't a lot of movies that say "you need to own me." When I buy DVDs, I like to be absolutely giddy that I'm getting to purchase it, and that feeling doesn't come along very often.
And yes, I was even giddy when I bought "Tomb Raider 2."
Let the flaming begin.

youve got some good stuff, but i suggest you try not to own "all of the series" sort of speek.
no offence. but for example men in black 2 is not worth owning. just keep #1
just focus on the best of series

For the most part, that's how I am. I would never buy Speed 2, Elektra, Hannibal Rising, Blade: Trinity, American Pie 2 or American Wedding, The Mummy Returns or The Scorpion King, and Robocop 2 or Robocop 3, but MIB was pretty weak, but it's watchable enough for $5. I actually just got it last week.
As for The Matrix and Pirates of the Caribbean sequels, they may be certainly be inferior, but I guess I'm still impressed to see a follow-up that tries something different while trying to stay true to the original. Say what you will about these flawed sequels, they're not rehashes. I'm a child of the 80s, so anytime a sequel is better than Beverly Hills Cop II, I'm amazed.

I don't do the "blind buys" for the most part, so I'll probably have to see Crank or Shoot 'em Up before I buy them, but I'm not really into action that has pretty much zero plot. The action's only as good as the story behind it, so I doubt I'll end up owning them.

Bull, I'm not going to rate your collection since you and I have about as divergent of tastes in film as is possible so my opinion wouldn't mean much. Instead, I'll just say welcome and recommend DVDAF.com as another possibility for a free DVD tracking site.

Aside from the fact that it doesn't look like you've yet to graduate high school, it is not a bad collection. And that by no means equates to a poke at any of you who are still in high school that have advanced interests
.
The collection itself is fairly standard fare except for your obvious leaning towards wrestling. Mostly mainstream sci fi really with a touch of cannibalism.
Many of the films that you own .. well, I also do. Most of them are entertaining, but not necessary deeply laden with messages or thought provocation. But I'll give you props for manning up on Wild Wild West. Most hate it, but I actually found it effective .. extremely stupid fun. It's a lot more entertaining than a large percentage of contemporary Hollywood releases whose sole purpose is entertainment, nothing else.
My only advice would be to branch out. There are far too many genres to explore outside of what you own; never-mind classic or contemporary, foreign or Hollywood, niche or mainstream. I wouldn't even want to begin ...
