Nice collection. I like that you keep it small and selective.

Best:
The Leopard (a forgotten epic of unprecedented scope)
The Royal Tenenbaums (possibly the best drama of the last 10 years)
The Big Lebowski (best comedy since Hollywood's golden age)

Worst:
About Schmidt (one of my three most hated films of all time)
Showgirls (sorry, not into camp)
Saved by the Bell (I assume nostalgia is involved but I'm still not sure that's a good enough reason to own it)

Needed:
Chinatown (you like Jack Nicholson but don't own his best film)
Antoine Doinel boxset (you like contemporary foreign arthouse cinema; had you grown up in the 60s, this is what you would have been watching--so why not now?)
Adaptation (there are better movies but the absence of this one sticks out in your collection)

I'll let someone else take a crack at you, but Battle of Algiers and Cassavetes are definitely at the top of my to-get list. You do know that Wonderland is not the Val Kilmer movie, but a Michael Winterbottom film? I like almost all of Winterbottom's work. And I suppose we can agree to disagree on Wonder Boys.

Our collections are very similar. If I liked horror and you liked French cinema more, they might be virtually identical.

for fryinpan1 - it should be up there but as I did this tons of others posted!

Great collection, too many good to name, not too many I wouldn't take.

Best:
True Romance
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
Event Horizon (I really dug this movie)
Le Pacte des loups aka Brotherhood of the Wolf for us Americans

Worst:
I Spy
Double Take
National Security
Sweetest Thing
etc.
etc.

guess you can tell I don't like these type of comedies.

Need:
Analyze That (to go with This)
Black Hawk Down
Master and Commander Collector's Edition (just because I can't find anything else you need and this is such a nice dvd compared to the barebones.)

Yeah, you got me... I thought you were talking about the Val Kilmer film. And concerning, Wonder Boys, I actually like it, but I pretty much liked everything you had. Great collection.

I think only the cover is censored on the Bullshit disc. Content isn't. That was the only version on the shelves, and I didn't care whether or not the cover was censored (I think the cover is only censored for the retail shelves). The Whole Ten Yards DVD was bought used and blind, because I refused to pay full price...so I wasn't too picky with it being full screen for $5. Blind Date, eh...what can I say. Scenes From a Marriage is so near the top of my wishlist.

I should have never gotten rid of my copy of Chinatown. I regret it. It was one of those "the library has it" deals.

Antoine Doinel boxset intrigues me.

Adaptation. Loved the movie. Got it at BB as a PVD. Sold it cause i want a dang SE!! I remember seeing it in the theatre and myself as well as everyone in the audience just jumping scared to death at the two
Spoiler:
car crashes
. After that happened everyone just laughed at everybody else.

Best: You have a great taste in horror movies
Alien Quadrilogy!
The Omen Collection
Rebecca:CC

Worst:
Leprechan 2-4
Mean Girls (watched at friend’s house and ugh!)
King Arthur

Most Needed:
Boiler Room - not the best movie, merely entertaining but would fit nicely with some of your other choices.

Family Guy - surprised not see this with Home Movies, simpsons, and ATHF

28 Days Later - No modern day horror collection is complete without this film

Most needed upgrade:
Evil Dead (book of the dead) – the best edition of the film

My link: http://www.dvdaficionado.com/dvds.ht...&id=mhepburn20 (it should be noted thanks to a few DVDtalkers, Fanny and Alexander:CC as well as Brazil:CC are on order)

You and I aren’t too similar taste-wise, but I didn’t want you to be skipped over. Here are my opinions, but again I don’t think you and I share similar views on good DVD.

Best
Greg the Bunny!
Arrested Development Season 1
Garden State

Worst:
Charlie’s Angel: Full Throttle
Napoleon Dynamite – I could not finish this movie
America’s Sweethearts

Most Needed:
Obvious:
Family Guy Season/Vol. 1
Futurama Vol. 4
ROTK: EE

Not so Obvious:
Either Aqua Teen Hunger Force or Space Ghost: Coast to Coast
Alias Season 1
South Park Season 1

Most needed upgrade:
Donnie Darko Director's Cut - Especially as a Kevin Smith fan (he appears on the commentary track)

My link: http://www.dvdaficionado.com/dvds.ht...&id=mhepburn20 (it should be noted thanks to a few DVDtalkers, Fanny and Alexander:CC as well as Brazil:CC are on order)
