2 Weeks from what date. It sounded like they are just taking a list of names and who knows when you will ever get the replacement. Maybe by then they hope that you forget, but mean while you feel good that you know that you are "supposed" to get a replacement.

I got a call.

They asked WS or FS.

And then they asked model/brand of the DVD player.

Be interesting to see how this plays out.

I just got the call. The lady I spoke with said they weren't giving a ship date because they had no idea yet.

I'm wondering if they're trying to see which ones they will have to actually replace, and which ones they'll just say "you need to upgrade your firmware." I haven't called them back yet; they left a voicemail on my answering machine today.

Yeah they left me a message and asked for WS or FS and model of my player.

For the model, what should I tell them?

Give them as many different model numbers as possible that way they can't blame it on just one or a handful of players. This would then send a clear message that the disc is truly deffective.

I had ANH freeze up on 3 of my players 1.Sony 2.Toshiba 3. Audiovox (portable).

I thought at first it was just me, but thank god I found this thread, I guess I'm not alone.

What's a good new DVD player I can list that should have no firmware problems? I want to make sure I get a replacement disc.

For the cost of replacing a single DVD, there is no way, Fox is going to spend the time and effort to research player compatibility and firmware issues. If you tell them it doesn't work, believe me, they will just trust you.

I still didn't get a call from Fox so I called them a third time. This time I actually got a human on the other end of the phone. I called in the middle of the day. I got the same story everyone else seems to have gotten; two weeks, what player, address, etc.

Are they replacing just ANH? Mine seems ok, but my ESB disk is the one giving me problems. Even after exchanging the disks 3 times. Happens on 4 out of my 5 players.

This is just for ANH. I guess you can call and ask if they'll replace ESB.

Called today regarding the replacement disks. The lady I spoke with was going to issue me replacement disks. I explained I am aslo having trouble with ESB. First she told me to return the disks to the store to exchange them. I told her this has been done 3 times now, she then requested I send my disks into them at :

Right at the very begining. When the Star Destroyer comes into view, it pauses, and then loops back a couple seconds, eventually it corrects itself. The rest of the movie is fine.

Its not just me either after reading trough some of the other posts. I can understand if it happened on one player and it was an older player, but 4 players, come on.
