I've never seen Borders break a street date, but they usually do have lots of OOP stuff. I found the Tati discs there right after they went OOP but way before the announced rerelease.
Also bought a Little Shop of Horrors SE with the alternate ending there.

As to FYEs in SE Michigan, all of them I called/visited (6 of them) as of today said they got an email from corporate stating a recall. Most of the stores already mailed the discs back

I guess it's time to try my luck at a Tower or Media Play.

I to ordered from dvdntoys and was sent my cancellation email this morning. Luckily last night "returnwarehouse" popped back up on HALF.Com and I swooped in and I think I got the last one. Now that order is in the packaging stage. So we'll see if I get it.

Valeyard, you won't be happy with me. I got my copy today at Suncoast. It was the only copy out there in the Drama section and I snapped it up in a hurry. Had the manager ring it up for me (she is a ditz who recently fired her best employee for not "leading by example". Guess the trip to Cancun he won for her the week after Christmas didn't mean a thing) and walked out calmly. Hope she gets slapped with that $1000.00 fine.

Thanks for the Sam Goody suggestion. I got three copies at the store in Stonebriar mall in Frisco Tx.

I emailed them and got a reply this afternoon.

He said that my copy would be shipping this evening or tomorrow morning at the latest!! so, it looks like if you ordered from returnwarehouse, you should be good to go.

I can't speak for anyone else, but you guys actually finding it on store shelves (instead of hoping it comes in the mail) are really starting to bug me!

Drop, you're a damn genius! Just picked up my copy about 15 minutes ago. For anyone interested, they have about 3 or 4 copies left.

The employee who rang me up was more concerned telling me about the Entertainment Weekly promotion than the DVD itself. Even on the price sticker it clearly states "STFEB03." Interestingly enough, I searched in the Sam Goody in Menlo and found nothing. I wonder if it was only this particular store or what.

I bought one form Dvdlegacy on Ebay last night. Checked the status and was shipped today. Cant wait.

Well based on that I just paid for the auction I won last night from dvdlegacy. Hopefully it comes through.

I paid last night about 8:00 pm cental time. So a little under 24 hr turnround. For what thats worth.

That's strange; I bought and paid for mine about 4 PM central time, and they haven't even processed my credit card. Are you going through the Auctionworks storefront tracking system that they emailed out?

My sources tell me that one of the FYEs in the Virginia Beach area of Virginia has three copies on display in the store and is willing to sell them.

my post is twofold:

first, i manage an fye as some of you know and i can now confirm that we received an email from corporate stating the title needed to be sent back on the next recall because of "rights issues"

second, i bought a copy from dvdlegacy on ebay last night, hasn't been cancelled yet. time will tell.

two copies, not three!! Three copies were available, but I took only two. I'm expecting the other coconuts to keep the street date. It'd be interesting to see what Best Buy and Circuit City do... They probably have to re-vamp their ads....................

Ebay prices will fall. Too many are getting thru the cracks. On 2/3, more could surface from stores (like Sam Goody, Suncoast, FYE) not knowing about the recall.

That is strange, DVDLegacy issued me a refund but on the status page it says the item shipped on 1/26.

eddie, you could be right...I've seen legit DUEL DVDs selling for as low as $30.00 on Ebay, so there may be more R1 Ed Wood DVDs to be had for that price...
