Ed Wood SE...cancelled?
That's what DVD Empire tells me:
Dear Customer
We have just been informed that Disney has cancelled the release of "Ed Wood: The Special Edition" due to unforseen circumstances.. We are going to change the title to TBA in our database in case they decide to change the release after all. This will leave your order in our system and guarantee you get a copy when the movie is released.

WHAT ?!?!?!
Man, if this is the case I'm going to be really !! pissed. I just checked most of the sites and all of them still have it listed as 2/3 or 2/4 except for:
DVD Empire (no release date)
DDD (I can't even find it on their site now)
Otherwise all the other large online distributors still show it on schedule.

If this is true, I feel for you guys. I wasn't planning on picking this up since I have the R2, so it doesn't really effect me. I do know a lot of people who have been waiting on this release though.
I wonder what the reason is now?

This is a shame...who would have thought that Disney would delay the release of such a heavily-anticipated title..oh, wait, still don't have those Disney Treasures wave 3 tins...nevermind.

I bet they are going to sit on this until after oscars so they can see if Big Fish wins any adwards and then release it about the same time as Big Fish hits DVD. They are doing the same thing with Mary Poppins & Princess Diaries 2

I was afraid of this. I went to place a pre-order for Ed Wood on DDD last night, and it no longer appeared when I searched for it. One second later, my first thought was "Oh, crap, those M-F-ers at Disney have done it again."
Does anyone remember the reason that was given for the last delay ? Was it a distribution rights dispute, or some question of re-doing content on the last release ?
Everyone gripes about how the other major studios and DVD companies handle DVD releases, but there is no question in my mind that Disney is the bottom of the barrel.

Disney put a feature on the R1 release that they didn't have R1 rights for. It' was originally held up while they tried to get the rights.
Glad I've got the R2!
