Opened it and watched it all, just for you Cornelius.

I haven't really checked to see if returnwarehouse charged me yet, but I assume he did. I mean I emailed him and ask him about it. He told me it would ship out Friday morning. Half.com shows it in the shipping status. All I can hope is that its on its way and that I should get it next week (though it wont be a HUGE deal if I dont get it from him as long as he didn't charge me because I already have this copy. but i told my friend he could buy the other off me)

Cornelius,

If you're still having trouble finding a copy and I see them on Tuesday, I'm willing to try and help you get one. At current, Suncoast and Borders still have it listed on their boards here and are still saying Tuesday. What that means, I don't know at this point. Good luck though

ARGH! This is so frustrating. I first tried to get this at Entertainment Outlet (I think that's it's name) on 14th street in Manhattan, and was told they couldn't sell it because it got recalled... but apparently they have no problem breaking street date with Lost in Translation or selling bootleg Criterion Salo's. Then today on Long Island I tried several Blockbusters, Walmarts, KMarts, and Cocunuts. No dice. Someone took my name at a Blockbuster to put one aside for me on Tuesday, but that's too risky IMO. Sigh. I guess I have to bite the bullet and try a Blockbuster back in Manhattan on Tuesday. Sigh...

This is such a bummer. I truly love this movie. Ah well...

I ordered mine from returnwarehouse on Monday morning, I think. I got it on Friday.

Cornelius -- keep the faith, brother! returnwarehouse WILL come through for you. They hadn't charged my card, either, but it turned out all good.

Matt

I think, as a lot of others do, that a deleted scene is the trouble. Either the song or Bela calling those folks at Universal "bastards." Either way, my copy looks real good on the shelf.

you sure about suncoast?, i tried 2 different ones and they wouldn't even take my money for pre-ordering it, both said same thing about a recall.

Well i'm going to have to thank the people that said they found it at blockbuster, but i slightly tweeked the way in which to get it. Rather than go to every blockbuster to see if they had it, i simply started calling them. Went to blockbuster.com put in my zip code and started the ones closest to me. On the second call I found it. Now I'm home and its in my hands. WOOHOOO!!!!!
I just called all the Blockbuster's around me this morning. Every one I called said they had one (1) in stock. I just went to the closest one nearby and they held it for me to pick up. I couldn't believe how easy it was. Although I did have to pay MSRP of $29.99.

So for those of you in south Florida, check your local BBs. They seem to all have it and have no problem at all in selling it before street date.

For the record, I am in Lantana. It is between West Palm Beach and Boca Raton.

Calling ahead to a store makes me nervous that I might be drawing their attention to something they didn't realize. I'm about to brave the cold myself to see what I can find.

Anyone have any luck with Movie Gallery? I'm not even sure Movie Gallery exists outside of Maine.

Woo-hoo! Blockbuster (one on Eastern Long Island) finally came through for me with 2 copies - I guess be persistent and eventually you can socially engineer someone to put one aside for you.

Good Luck!

If you're in Miami, use Blockbuster's locator for 33186 and skip the first 12 entries or so. I hit em all 2 days ago.

Well, my only Blockbuster in the area didn't have it out but the guy at the counter said it would be out Tuesday and they'd only have one copy. He wouldn't reserve it for me (even after I smiled and batted my eyes a little) but maybe if I show up right at opening, I'll get lucky. I'll be a little late for class, but it's worth for Ed, I think.

The Blockbuster in Ellisville (MO) doesn't have any more copies.

Because I bought them both today.

Well, it's in the Best Buy sale paper and since the local Best Buy is grossly incompetent they might actually sell it.

I tried 5 Blockbuster's, a Suncoast, 3 Barnes and Nobles, and 2 Walmarts in Richmond, VA. NOTHING!

One had a Rain Man SE out, but no Ed Wood.

Yesterday, with my wife out of town and nothing better to do, I went to the following places searching for a copy of Ed Wood:

5 Blockbusters
4 Borders
3 FYEs
3 Hollywood Videos
3 Best Buys
3 Barnes & Nobles
2 Walmarts
2 Circuit Citys
2 Wherehouse Musics
1 Target
1 Video Heat
1 Video Warehouse

No luck! The closest I got was one FYE that had copies in the back, but wouldn't sell them because of the recall. My Blockbusters didn't have any copies to put out Tuesday.

With all that gas used driving around you could've picked up an eBay'd copy...

I applaud your determination, though.

FIVE GOLD RINGS!

Just reminded me of the song, and Eddie Izzard.

Which Blockbusters did you go to? The second one I called (Dunwoody) had a copy (I picked up the only one).

I went to my nearest Blockbuster and asked if they'd be getting any copies of the Ed Wood SE. The guy found it on his computer, but he said they weren't getting any in.

Has anyone tried Hollywood Video? I've never seen them put anything out early, but I was curious if they'd heard about the recall, or if they would have any on Tues.

My job (Blockbuster) got one, and it's still there no recall yet, but my friend and co-worker has asked me to put it aside for her, and I was the one who told her about the recall!

HW Video doesn't have it out yet..if at all. I have one across the street from me. I'll find out Tuesday after work.

FYI...

For those of you in the Montgomery, AL area, I just picked up 2 copies (1 for me and a friend) at Sam Goody in Montgomery Mall. They had a few more on the shelves. They were $29.99 each. Just a heads up!

I'm very interested in picking up this version of the movie, but have no time to look around, but I've been checking each store that I visit for other shopping. So far, no luck. That recall notice must have circulated... Oh well. I guess I'll have to wait for this one.

Got one at the Broadstone Blockbuster in Folsom, CA.

FYI, many Blockbusters aren't getting any copies (3 had it in their computers, with 0 copies). Just call and ask for Ed Wood Special edition.

How'd I get it? I went there, browsed a bit. Then asked for help. She dug around the shelves a bit, then said she couldn't find it. She ended up digging through boxes in the back and gave me.... The Only Copy!!!

Make your calls, and hit the road. It's worth it!!! (It'll really be worth it when I open it and watch it!)

Ain't that the truth...

Two in Kennesaw, one in Marietta, one on Cobb Parkway below Cumberland Mall, and the one near Perimeter Mall.
