This offer may not be combined with any other coupon or promotion
If anyone has luck in store using some coupons please post. I want to see how strict they are.

As usual with the first day of these sales, they raised a lot of prices overnight, eliminating the possibility of some very good deals. Numerous blu-rays that were 40% off last night now range from 30% off to full MSRP.

Added a couple of new 20% member online codes to the list. Unfortunately coupons do not qualify for the b2g1f sale online. I'm becoming more worried coupons may not be allowed during the Criterion sale this time around. Also doesn't look like there are any new printable coupons coming this week with the exception of a new Nook $20 off coupon.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

So I received two 20% off member coupons in the mail.

Wonder if they'll work in store with the "Buy 2, Get 1 Free" promotion.

I agree with you. I even grabbed a title off the DD 25% sale, which would have been the same as B&N anyway...

At least with a store you have a fighting chance they will allow the coupons for the sale. However I don't know if they would let you possibly use both coupons on a single b2g1f transaction. I've tried that in the past with little success. Most times I got shot down trying. I've only been able to use two coupons once. It's always ymmv at stores on what they will permit. Hopefully they are not getting as strict as they are online.

Looks like I'm on the no coupon list with my member account again. I didn't get any coupons in the mail for 2 straight months now. Also it appears B&N stopped sending emails for my member account again. I guess they are trying to get me not to renew my membership next month.

By the way are your online codes the same as what I have on the first page? I currently have 2 codes and believe B&N put out 4 different member codes for the month. Still looking for the 2 other coupons that are out there for the list.

I was tempted to get a few Criterions at DD, but decided I better wait for the B&N sale because I need to get rid of some gift cards. I'm hoping the stores won't be as strict if there are coupon restrictions this time around. Even if there are no coupons allowed there is still the 10% member discount at stores.

My big concern at the moment is if the sale starts before or after my membership ends. I may have to do a free member trial offer to get me through it. Unless things improve I don't want to pay for a new membership for another year.

Yeah I went for a few via Amazon at 50% or a little more off. It won't be as good as a coupon fueled discount at B&N, but it will be better if no coupons are allowed as I'm saving tax which adds up.

Buying online from DD or Amazon also gets you the title now as opposed to July. I also prefer avoiding uncomfortable interactions with B&N employees who have really become skeptical on using coupons during the CC sale, more often than not, calling in a manager for a ruling which usually results in a "no".

^ That's not bad. All of the titles on my list are $34.04, so even with B2G1, it makes no sense.

I assume this was with the former $5 and current $8 DVD/Blu-ray coupons that B&N employees often have trouble interpreting the fine print. I always seem to get questioned on those but have always been able to use them after a lengthy scrutiny by an employee or manager. However I've never had a problem using the regular 15%, 20%, or 25% off one item coupons at a store.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Its really strange. I was able to get on the email list on two accounts with the link lasermovies provided some months ago. Now they cut off my emails again and I haven't received any for a month or two. I can't understand what the problem is with this company. Have others had their emails stopped too again?

Yes, just mentioned it a few days ago they cut off my emails again on my member account. It's the third time B&N has done it to my account. Also another account I frequently used was cut off again after getting emails restored. I believe they are intentionally doing it.

Yes, that's what I meant. The old $5 coupons seemed to go through, NQA. The $8 coupon was a lot tougher, as it required a box set to begin with, combined with the tighter wording, and the HUGE YMMV on the "price at register before all discounts, blah, blah, blah....".

What post has link to sign up for email or what's the link? I just looked at bn.com and couldn't even find a place for it. I saw only facebook and twitter buzz. I don't want to miss out on the next batch of % coupons. thanks

Most companies want to spam you to death like DD. I don't understand BN's strategy on depriving us of emails.

odd that Kansas isn't listed as they definitely charge sales tax to sales here. pissed me off when I first moved here.

Do a Google search for "Best Buy Devil Customers" and you'll see

It wouldn't surprise me if that is how B&N looks at some of their customers. I think it's obvious they are intentionally trying to limit coupons to customers they believe are using too many. I've noticed whenever I go to a B&N store that most people who buy anything do not use a coupon for the purchase. I believe they look at the shopper who is savvy to coupons and discounts as the enemy.

Thanks for the link. It worked somewhat. They sent a welcome email to one account but nothing to my member account. Pretty sneaky to keep me from getting member coupons.

I tried signing up again with my member account yesterday and didn't even get the welcome email. From past experience I found out even if you receive a welcome email it's no guarantee you'll ever get anything else. If it works please let us know.

New printable store coupons are now available. However no new online coupon codes to go with them. Coupons are valid through June 17.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Thanks for the heads up Jimmy.
While I don't doubt that's the info you got, I've heard "there won't be a sale this time" for the last few sales. And it's always relayed by an B&N employee the poster has a regular familiarity with. In any case, I've been prepared to see this come to an end for some time, so it wouldn't be unexpected at all. I'll start mopping up the last few titles I had any interest in, with the current B2G1 sale later today.
Fortunately, there's just not much on the horizon with Criterion that I can't live without. Be kind of happy to see it come to an end (for a while) to be honest as it will force me to finally get around to watching everything from all the past sales.- Sort of like whats happened with the DD sale being a non event now.
