Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I was so scared that the orders were going to get cancelled, and I wanted to be able to reserve my titles in store ASAP (and not reserve them for nothing) that I ended up placing far fewer orders than I could have. Oh well...

That's what I expected - apparently last time there was some grumbling from B & N about coupon 'abuse', so this shouldn't be much of a surprise.

Which store was this?

I'm hoping my store won't make a fuss about using the $8 coupon on the By Brakhage set, because I doubt I'll be getting it otherwise.

These are not valid obviously because they lack a bar code, but the surprise coupons are now up on b&n.com. Should probably start seeing them Thursday morning.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Just got shipping confirmation for one of the orders I made last night during the overlap.

Anatomy Of A Murder
Tokyo Drifter
Branded To Kill

$43.48 with tax

Two more shipping confirmations as I type. Looks like they are honoring all the overlap orders. Someone is gonna get fired

Edited to add: Strangely, all three orders are being shipped by different means even though each order consists of three titles. One is UPS, another is Argix-USPS (whatever that is) and the third is via Smart Mail. The third order only contains one of the three titles I ordered (Harold and Maude), listed as FREE, and no indication when the other two titles will be shipped (Hollis Frampton, Late Spring).

These sales have been overlapping for years. You think they'd have this figured out by now. But I'm grateful they haven't.

Still battling a bit of buyer's remorse over getting REPULSION instead of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST during a rush overlap order. Saw REPULSION many years ago and liked it, never saw BEAUTY. Anyone think I made the right or wrong choice?

While I realize that this is probably just because I live in NYC-- I just RECEIVED my first order (BEING JOHN MALKOVICH, GRAY'S ANATOMY, AND EVERYTHING IS GOING FINE). Placed at around 1am, got the B2G1. Came to my door via LaserShipping. Definitely the fastest order-to-delivery turnaround I've ever seen!

Quickest order I ever got - ordered The Prowler from Amazon around 10 A.M., and it arrived via courier around 6 PM.

Beauty and the Beast is a beautiful, amazing film. I've never seen Repulsion, but hard to judge your choice since the films are so different.

You can still get Repulsion, too, if you get a good mystery coupon this week.

I've received shipping notification on 3 + 1/3 of my 4 orders from earlier this morning. Two are Lasership and the others are USPS (for some reason- I assume distance related).

Have them both. They each are great and worth owning. You were/are in a
win-win/no lose in that moment. No way you could possibly go wrong in my opinion.

On your second question the surprise or mystery coupons are for both members and non-members. You just need to be signed up for B&N special offers to receive a valid coupon.

I just created a new e-mail account to use for the free two-month trial that
was suggested. Since I do not want to renew my membership. They require
a CC# and I only have one that I use for online orders and such. Do you know
if they would catch or recognize it in their system? I'm hoping the new e-mail
and a different phone number is all I need to do?

I wouldn't worry about it. When I went to check out with an e-Gift Certificate and the trial membership, I mistakenly entered a email address that B&N recognized as an established account which I hadn't used for a while and forgotten about. It accepted my order.

As others have said, they're both very different, but equally terrific films. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with Beauty & the Beast.

So far only 2 of 10 orders have shipped, despite the orders being placed in rapid succession last night.

I just did this. I just signed up for another Barnes and Noble account using the same CC#, name, and home address. I just used another email I had, and was able to sign up for the 2-month free trial.

Go for it!
