Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I usually get single titles in the longer, folded cardboard mailers. They even sent me the Criterion BBS set in one of those last year- Fortunately it didn't suffer any damage.

Dunno if it has already been mentioned or not, but Walking Dead BD 3-disc Special Edition is $26.99 ($18.89 with 30% off coupon). That's a sweet price!

Yeah, I was able to order it in-store for a little less with the membership discount. It came out to around $16 plus tax.

And i just sold the first release on Craigslist for $20, so it was a free upgrade.

If you are into "limited" editions, Best Buy has their exclusive version for 27.49 before any cash back. It's probably not worth the difference in price unless you collect these editions or have some Rewards to use.

Just an FYI, I found a glitch in their Toys and Games deal. In addition to the $5 off promotion, I'm getting Buy 1 Get 1 50% off. Those two deals combined, plus using a coupon, plus 10% cashback today, makes for some great deals!

You "ordered it" in-store, and got the membership discount? Or do you mean you bought it in-store, and it was that cheap? I'm asking since the member discount isn't supposed to be valid on orders...

I placed a ship-to-home order. The member discount has always worked on ship-to-home.

No it doesn't. A ship to home order is considered an online purchase so the member discount doesn't apply.

It isn't supposed to. You must go to a store with clerks who don't know... Consider yourself lucky...

The 6 disc Marx Brothers Silver Screen Collection (Horse Feathers, Monkey Business, Animal Crackers, The Cocoanuts, Duck Soup, and bonus disc) is 45% off/32.99 before coupons. That makes it $23 and change before tax and cash back using the 30% off coupon.

Well, I'm not lying. I've done plenty of ship-to-home orders and the extra 10% has been taken off.

Maybe, but I've had the same result from a few different stores and several different employees. They just scan my membership card and it's automatically applied.

Never had the luck that you did. Any ship to home orders have always not allowed my 10% members discount. When I see that, I usually end up cancelling the order.

I'm not saying you're lying, but it definitely isn't automatic. The clerk must be applying the discount manually. Either that, or you haven't placed any STH orders in the last 8-10 months since they changed the membership program. The system doesn't automatically give discounts with Ship to Home orders. We've been discussing that topic in the thread many, many times, and you are the first person to say you have gotten a discount.

I've gotten them in the cardboard sticky mailers and then the last two orders came in a thin flimsy plastic envelope with no padding whatsoever. I was lucky that everything came okay.

Great movies, but indifferent transfers with sub-standard prints and horrible bonus features. The brothers deserved much better. Maybe on Blu, but I won't hold my breath or my duck.

The original negatives have been lost so we are probably stuck with the prints they used here. Because of that, I'd say the chances of these films ever seeing a Blu-ray release are zero. They may never see an upgrade period.

I'd love better prints and decent extras but I'm ok with this at less than $5 a movie.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

The problem is that Universal didn't do anything to clean these up and invested nothing in a worthwhile release. Apparently the bonus features were supposed to be substantial, but something derailed them. I believe the extras disc on this totals about 45 minutes.

I agree with you about them not showing up on Blu however unless the practice of vintage movie double features catches on. Remote. I would get this set if it was in the $12.99-$15 range, but even at the discount today, I can't go for it compared to other sets I would like to have.

@ LASERMOVIES,

They e-mailed me the N7C7K8T coupon ad, which is the second e-mail since I signed up with that link you posted. From what you posted earlier it sounds like I'm not getting everything, but of course some is better than none.

The number of emails you receive can vary. I have one email address that has received about 4 to 5 emails since I started receiving them, another address has received only 2 emails for B&N. However both emails were for coupon offers. As long as they keep coming I'm happy to get them.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

LASER, any idea if Barnes & Noble will have a 40% off sale on all Blu-rays or a "Buy 2, Get 1" free deal on all Blu-rays?

I want to pick up some Criterions that were released after the 50% off sale ended. I am sure I'll have enough Amazon points by July to pick up 12 Angry Men for free though, heh.

40% off and if I could use the $8 off $40 coupon would make them $13.59 before sales tax.

The "Buy 2, Get 1" free deal could be good if they throw in some awesome coupons.

I have no answer for a 40% sale, but I would expect the next B2G1F sale in January.

If you are a Costco member you might find this for 14.99. I bought it last week.
