This company is absolutely maddening.
I've got three accounts tied to separate e-mail addresses from which I've made purchases. Not one of them has ever yielded a single coupon e-mail from B&N. I've checked my preferences on each, and checked my spam folders. Nothing.
Needless to say, if anyone has a spare they won't be using, I would be highly appreciative. Thanks.

Well I guess I'll have to retract some earlier comments I made vis-à-vis the $8 off $40 coupon.
Decided to test it, so on Saturday I approached a cashier wanting to buy a $39.99 BluRay and when presenting my coupon said: "I don't know if this [DVD] qualifies but could you try this?" The CSR showed it to an associate standing next to him, they read the fine print, and said it might work. He then proceeded to ring up the sale and after trying to scan the $8 UPC a second time, the sale went through. The most surprised person in the whole store was....me.
Went back on Sunday, same store, different CSR (although first guy showed up during transaction), same results. Only bought one DVD each time but on Sunday also bought a Standard Def using my last 25% off coupon. YMMV. The system does not reject it outright. Wound up paying more for SD than BR.

Could be an interesting week for coupons. I ran across the details for member and non-member coupons for 30 to 40% off. Not sure how they are going to send these out though. May want to monitor emails a little more closely from B&N. Also later in the week should at least have a new 15% to 20% combo store online coupons valid from November 17 to November 20.

If I do indeed receive a 40% off coupon, Night of the Hunter would be $14.34 after sales tax, $13.50 before.
I'd basically save $1.06 after sales tax if I went with the 40% off coupon instead of the $8 off $40 coupon.

Have you guys tried calling customer service? I know it seems like a hassle, but I was on hold about 15 minutes, finally got through to someone who filled out a form, and assured me I would start receiving coupons. About 4 days later I started receiving tons of e-mails from Barnes & Noble, some with coupons and some stating sales that were going on.
