People on the blu-ray.com forum are crazy for an app called Shopkick, which has an $8 off $40 item coupon. They are also using 6% CB on ******. Anybody on here using these?
So many options, we need some sort of guide for how to stack all these discounts - it's so random.

I knew it was against the rules but thought it was a wink and nod thing as long as you were not posting direct links. I've seen it done a lot by other forum members but never saw anyone get in trouble for it. First time I've been reprimanded mentioning it in the many years I've been a forum member at DVDTalk, and since I don't want to risk suspension or worse I'm keeping my mouth shut about it in the future.

Obviously you're not a regular reader of this thread if you can't figure out how to maximize coupons and other discounts. Also you're not allowed to talk about that cashback web site on DVDTalk. If you noticed it's censored. I received a PM from a mod yesterday and was told not to discuss that site, or I would either be banned or suspended if I did it again.
I know it's "your" thread but you shouldn't be so arrogant about it - people have the right to ask questions and discuss the sale.
As for the cashback, I didn't know and didn't see it was censored after I wrote that post. Obviously I would not have mentioned it if I knew it's forbidden, and since there isn't any blatant statement anywhere that I've seen about this rule you can't be upset about it.

Are you a B&N member?
Do you have a Discover card?
What are you buying?
It's one of things you have to figure out yourself by determining which coupons/rebates you have available and doing the math for the items you want to buy.

Chill out. It's not that I "can't figure out" the discounts - I've been reading and everyone has a different approach or varying degrees of success.

I'll try my best to keep my big mouth out of trouble!
I'm not trying to be be arrogant about it. I'm sorry if my post may have come out that way. It was late at night and was my last post before going to bed. Also it's not my thread. I started it to make it easier to update the first post with new coupons, but anyone is welcome to post, contribute information, and ask questions.
On the subject of cashback I was merely putting out a warning since I got in trouble for posting about it in another thread yesterday. I've always known it was a subject frowned upon discussing on DVDTalk and is why I never put anything on the first page of this thread with information. I knew it would probably get me in trouble for breaking a forum rule. However, until yesterday I thought a brief comment in passing in a discussion was okay. If you want to earn cashback that's up to you and is easy enough to figure out without going into any detail that violates forum rules. If you had a question you would have to keep it off this forum and probably email someone.
On ways to save jwstl post sums it up. There are only a few ways to use coupons in conjunction with other discounts. Best way is to see what coupons are available at the time and what you are planing to buy. Then worry about combining any other discount.
One thing to add. I guess if there is any confusion with the coupons it is probably with some of the store coupons. Unfortunately with poorly worded fine print and different interpretations by store employees can lead to different experiences with successfully using them during the Criterion sale. It is and has been a huge ymmv situation at stores with these coupons.

No worries. I was confused because on the blu-ray.com forum different savings methods are discussed, but now I see that we can't bring those up here.

Well it doesn't look like there is going to be anything for the remainder of this week. If you have a membership I believe there is a good chance of a 20% coupon before the end of the sale. However unless you only have a few titles of interest I see no reason not to use any of the current coupons either online or at stores now since there is no guarantee of anything better.

Anyone notice Discover is offering 15% cashback today at B&N.com. Since this is a credit card company I assume it's okay to mention it.

Is it today only? I'm not finding an expiration date. I ordered $200 in B&N gift cards from Discover Rewards and they should be here tomorrow. I would love to get the 15% so if it's today only I might just buy what I want and save the gift cards for the next Criterion sale.

I didn't see a expiration date or even knew they were doing this today. I accidentally discovered it while I was setting up email alerts with my account. I wish I waited to place my order I did Monday evening for 4 Criterions.

I figure if it was one day only it would say so on the webpage. I'll risk it.

Sums up my feelings. I'm wondering if I should just do another order and try returning my first order to a store to see if they might give me store credit. I hate to return it back to B&N.com for a refund.
Another question will Discover give me 15% if I purchase a membership? I might consider renewing with a 15% discount. B&N is on to me and won't let me do free trials anymore. When I tried to sign up for a free trial on an account that never had a membership it said I already previously had a membership and didn't qualify.

I don't know if you can purchase a membership online, but if you can, you should certainly get the 15% back from Discover. IIRC, I bought mine in-store using my Bank of America debit card on their "Add It Up" program, which is only good for 5% back.
Edit: Looks like you can buy a membership online: Membership Just add it to your cart.

I did 2 orders Monday night when the Criterion sale started. Like to return the first one since I can do better. The second order had one Criterion and 3 blus with the b2g1 sale before it ended. No reason to return the second one because the sale is over now.
I liked renewing my membership through Bing when they were around because they gave you cashback. I wasn't sure if Discover would do the same thing. This seems like a good opportunity to renew instead of trying to start another account for a free trial only to find out I get another rejection.

You can return an online order to a store within 14 days of receipt with the packing slip and they will issue a refund to your credit card. I've done it a few times in the past. No need to worry about store credit.

Ah Bing, I had almost forgotten about that one. How did they distribute the money in the end? I can't remember if I ever got my balance....

I paid most of it with gift cards and may have some cashback coming I hate to lose. That's why I like to get credit. It wouldn't be hard to use during the sale at a local store.

I don't see why they would reject you for a paid membership. The Discover cashback at 15% is excellent....$3.75 by my reckoning. You might want to do a separate order for the membership, just to clear it. Then you can go back in and use it + Discover to do your real shopping.

I received everything Bing owed me. At the end even if you were under the $5 minimum they paid any remaining balance.
