Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Criterions, Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc.
Free Shipping is $25 (before tax/shipping) or with membership.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order

Return period is 14 days after delivery though possibly it's 30 days now for most people though there is a discrepancy b/w the receipt and website.
Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept

Single Item 15% OFF, but should be reusable in different transaction and if the Clerks will scan it more than once.

Looks like only renewal coupons this week. Unless you recently renewed a membership ymmv with stores accepting them.

Well mine is up at the end of the month and when I went in to buy a couple of things they offered me renewal, so I may bite and renew to get the coupons. Does the 30 refund still count on renewals or only new BN members accounts?

I've been able to renew and cancel a membership within 30 days a few times. Might want to read through the membership rules to make sure they have not added any new restrictions since updating it a few months ago.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I have made the rounds to my local B&N's and have gotten most everything that I have wanted. Only one store that I had success using multiple coupons. All of the other stores were sticklers. Oh well, I can't complain. The only weird thing is that one of the Blu-ray's that I really want, A Christmas Tale, is not available in stores. I have no idea why. I may hold off on that one, or get it online. Thanks to everyone for posting these deals and sharing their stories. Good Luck all.

I am heading out again tomorrow to hopefully snag Black Narcissus and The Red Shoes.

If these are to be active on the CC sale at all, I would check as close to their starting date as possible. I have a feeling that if they work, they will work "unintentionally" and B&N will soon fix the hole.

My thoughts too. I will be VERY happy if this coupon works but I'm not expecting it.

Good chance it will get activated tomorrow around this time. Typically if there is a start date on a coupon they begin working about a day before the date listed.

This would have been a great coupon for the sale but doubt it will work since coupons are not eligible.

The new rules do currently state that you can still get a refund within 30 days on a renewal.

Managed to use two in-store coupons today despite some earlier resistance.

Too bad those new coupons don't work! Just tried and no dice (as expected). Picked up three more Blu's today -- Leopard, Paris Texas and Walkabout today using $5 of $20 DVD and $5 off $50 purchase.

How were you able to use the $5 off of $50?

Indeed. I'm amazed that you were able to get a cashier to use the $5 off of $20 coupons on the same transaction and then apply the $5 off of $50.

True. But again, it works fine if they scan the $5 off $50 first. I've never thought to ask them to do it that way, but this year a few different cashiers have done it that way on their own.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I was successful with using both coupons (the $5 off DVD and the $5 off $50) the other night in-store for a $20 Blu-Ray and a $40 box. Seems like the best possible deal at this point. The fine print on both specifically allows them to be used together and I had to point this out to the clerk. He struggled a bit to make them work together and it finally worked when he entered the $5 off $50 first for the $40 box.

Leopard = $22.50 - $5 off $20 coupon = $17.50
Paris, Texas = $18
Walkabout = $18
====================================
TOTAL = $53.50 - $5 off $50 TOTAL = $48.50

As you can see it all works out because Leopard is slightly more expensive.

Oh, I see, you only used one of the $5 off $20 coupons.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Has anyone been able to use the 20% off coupon that comes with renewal? I renewed in mid-July and was not able to use that coupon even a first time today. Any thoughts? Would have been a great deal on a Criterion set.

Did it not scan or did the cashier refuse or none of the aforementioned?

If using multiple coupons makes one a criminal, I'd be on the Green Mile.

Actually, there is a crossover period of about a week where a new membership qualifies for both sets of coupons.

The cashier appeared to scan the 20% off coupon and type in the corresponding number then told me that it did not register and insinuated I had already used the coupon. In this case I had never used the coupon before so I was curious why it seemed to no go through.
