Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only.

Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Criterions, Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc.
Free Shipping is $25 (before tax/shipping) or with membership.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order

Return period is 14 days after delivery though possibly it's 30 days now for most people though there is a discrepancy b/w the receipt and website.
Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept

Single Item 15% OFF, but should be reusable in different transaction and if the Clerks will scan it more than once.

The web site says the sale ends Monday. I would imagine they mean through the whole day.

LASER, or anyone else who has done a Ship-to-Home with the B2G1, did that require an override? I tried to order some of the summer sale blu-rays today, and they wouldn't combine it with the deal. The third blu did not show up as free on the order slip from the CS desk, and did not ring up automatically at the registers. Cashier inquired with the manager, who told them it was in-store only.

Yes the cashier who helped me overrode it. I noticed initially when she was processing the ship to home order the total price was for all three blu-ray titles. Then she removed one of the lower priced titles for the free one before finally scanning the coupon. I asked about the b2g1 sale before placing the order and she had no problem doing it. She even commented I was getting a better deal with the online prices.

Unfortunately the results will vary depending on the employee and store. I found a lot of stores in my area will let me do b2g1 with virtually anything online but will not let me use more than one coupon. Even today the woman who placed my order said I could use only one coupon when she saw I had two. I talked her into scanning the second coupon but when it didn't work that was as far as she was willing to go.

Anyone know if B&N is open on the 4th?

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I'm not sure if they are open July 4. I didn't think to ask or noticed any signs when I entered the store today if they were going to be opened or closed. There could have been a sign but I wasn't really paying much attention going into the store. I thought they might be opened since the store coupons were not set to expire until the close of business on the 4th.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I was successful getting 3 blu rays shipped to home, one free and using one 20% off coupon.

I got
Das Boot (Preorder release date 7/5)
Outlaw Josey Wales
The Man Who Would Be King

Cost was under $32 before tax.
The two non preorders were listed on the website as being in stock for in store pick up. I did a quick look and did not see them. I asked if I could do a ship to home order and if the 3 for 2 deal could be used. The clerk said yes to both. She did not check to see if the two already released items were in stock at the store. I didn't try to use a second coupon with the order.

Mlister I am not sure if the clerk needed to do a manual over ride to get the free movie. Like you said the invoice did not deduct the free movie. Mine also had a shipping charge on it, which I assume even if I wasn't a member I shouldn't be charged for since the order was over $25. The 20% off had to be applied manually to one of the movies. On my receipt the free movie has a deduction that says Item cpn free. The receipt had no shipping charge.

For future reference, can you do ship to home DVDs from a B&N store that does not have a DVD dept? I assume you can. I did not go to one for this sale because I was concerned the store clerk wouldn't know about the 3 for 2 sale since they don't sell DVDs and since the discount may not automatically come up, I was afraid they wouldn't give it to me.

Thanks again to Lasermovies for all the coupons and advice on how to get the most out of these deals.

Glad you were able to get the order in with the b2g1 sale!

If you couldn't find the movies at the store someone probably reserved them to pick up later. In fact that is a good way to get something temporarily out of stock for a few days. That's what I did before I went to the store to place my order. I wanted to make sure they didn't have the titles available just in case they would not let me do a ship to home order because they had it on the shelf. However I don't believe the employee who placed my order even cared. She said I could buy the titles from them, order online, or even combine the online order and a store purchase together with the sale.

On your question about stores without a DVD section. I have ordered DVDs from a store without a music and movie department a few times. However I ran across problems with the b2g1 sale as you mentioned with the store employee not being familiar or aware of the sale. When they didn't see any information for the sale on the items I was interested in they refused to do the order, and more or less told me to go to a store with a DVD department. I would suggest only doing a straightforward DVD order at this type of store. They should be able to handle a regular DVD order, or pre-order with a coupon.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

So I plan to get these titles during the inevitable Criterion sale:

• M [Blu-ray]
• Insignificance [Blu-ray]
• Yi Yi [Blu-ray]
• Modern Times [Blu-ray]

I bought my membership back in January. The $5 off $50 coupon states it can only be used for each membership bought between April 25, 2011 and June 29, 2011.

Am I SOL? Have people been able to use this coupon even though they've bought a membership before April 25? Do you think the coupon would even scan? Or does the system recognize when my membership was purchased, and therefore would decline the coupon. I wonder if it is up to the cashier to enforce it.

Has anyone been able to use coupons on numerous titles during previous 50% Criterion sales? Like separate transactions for each movie so I can use numerous X% off coupons on top of my membership discount. Probably a YMMV.

(3 * 17.99) + 14.39 - 5 = $63.36 (Using membership discount, one hypothetical 20% off coupon, and the $5 off $50).
Add MA sales tax, 63.36 * 1.0625 = $67.32.

Separate transactions for each movie using a hypothetical 20% coupon on each transaction:

(14.39 * 4) = $57.56
Add MA sales tax, 57.56 * 1.0625 = $61.16

The coupon is intended for new customers who purchase a membership. However saying that I found it really doesn't matter when the membership was purchased even though the fine print may say otherwise. I never had a problem using them online, or at a store with a membership I had for years. You probably can use at least one coupon per visit, maybe more depending on how strict the store is over coupon usage. Also you might be able to combine the $5 and $8 DVD together at a store. All the online offers listed with the coupon are stackable on a single online transaction. It's also supposed to work the same way with the store coupons, but some stores don't seem to understand how the coupon is supposed to work.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Coupon update. Added a new $8 DVD and $5/$50 coupon to the first page. Now have 2 different coupons for the Criterion sale.

Also some more store coupons coming but did not see any regular generic coupons. Looks like you need to receive B&N emails for a valid coupon. I hope they are not going to only have these for the Criterion sale.

These coupons are worthless without the barcodes

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Question for all you BN.com veterans out there. I'm looking at picking up the Gettysburg/Gods & Generals set ($59.49), Gone With the Wind set ($58.49), and Wizard of Oz set ($58.49). What is my best method to maximize the coupons. If I purchase online and use the b2g1 promo and the $8 off $40, the total comes out to ~$105. Is it possible to get better savings by going into the store? Any other possible coupons I'm not looking at?

It would probably be cheaper to order online. In store prices are:

Gettysburg / Gods and Generals Set -- $84.99.
Gone with the Wind Set -- $64.99
Wizard of Oz Set -- $64.99
Unless you have a membership and even then it is not much of a difference online is the way to go for those sets.

That's probably the best coupon. The $8 coupon is really a $13 coupon because your order is over $50. None of the other coupons are going to exceed that amount. You could pick up an extra 6% to 10% in cashback in addition to the coupon. E bates is currently offering 6% at B&N, or you could earn 10% if you have a Discover card.

Thanks guys, I went ahead and place the order. Got the Gods and Generals/Gettysburg, Gone With the Wind, Wizard of Oz blu ray sets for $112 shipped w/tax. Add that to the Ten Commandments from Best Buy for $25 and the Sound of Music from Amazon for $35 and my shelves are going to be filled with these sets.

I don't plan on using this coupon and will put it up for grabs. Good either online or at stores.

Just tried to use 10% Off coupon J3M9D8K for 3 titles on the B2G1 sale and got a message saying the coupon was ineligible for that order. Called customer service and was told you can't "combine 2 coupons."
Has anyone actually successfully used the coupon for their order? I was going through ******, so maybe that was part of the problem?

I asked in another thread but it is still working for me when I tested the coupon with three Criterion titles in my cart. Did you have any pre-orders in your cart? Not sure where you tried to purchase through since it is censored. I assume it was e bates?

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I had to cancel a rather large order of cheap blu rays placed July 1 because even though they were listed as shipping within 24 hours, as of today they still hadn't shipped. I think I would have done better to place several small orders instead of one large one. I did place a separate order at the time for an item listed as shipping in one to two weeks. That order is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. I am going on vacation and didn't want a box sitting outside my door. They wouldn't allow me to change the shipping address to my office or the shipping method from UPS to USPS but I could cancel the order. Mail can be held by USPS but not UPS. Disappointed, but cancelling was better then having the package taken or having it known that I was out of town by having a box sitting outside my door for a week.

I hate that. BN.com essentially ruined my vacation plans last weekend. Of all freaking days, they shipped my Outlaw Josey Wales via UPS to deliver on a Friday when I was out of town. I called UPS, and they refused to work with me. I had to be there or the package would be left outside easy for anyone to steal. So I stayed home all day waiting for this damn package, and it ended up requiring a signature even though UPS said it wouldn't! I just wish BN.com would just use USPS for all shipments.

Hard to say. Do you have a Discover Card? Did you use e b a t e s?
I just noticed you used a 15% off one item code. That saved you 10.80. The 10% off your entire order code would have saved you 14.34 for a difference of 3.54.
