Re: Comic Book Cover Of The Day
A friend of mine had a copy of X-Men #1 in the 1970s. It was expensive even then, especially for a kid. His dog destroyed it.
The dog was smart. One day the dog got mad at him. He believed that the dog deliberately destroyed something that he valued.
He held onto the shreds for a while just to show people that he used to have X-Men #1.

Re: Comic Book Cover Of The Day
Something similar happened to a friend of mine when she was in high school. She had something that a friend who had recently died had given her, like a collage or something, hanging on her bedroom wall. Her family went out for a day trip and left the family dog at home. They usually took the dog on these excursions, but this day they were going somewhere they couldn't bring the dog. So while they're gone, the dog goes into my friend's bedroom, pulls the collage her deceased friend had made for her off the wall (it was up high and the dog really needed to work to get it), carried it downstairs, and ripped it to pieces right in front of the door so it was the first thing they would see when they got back. She never spoke to, touched, or forgave the dog.

Not to derail the thread or anything, but I remember seeing a humorous commercial a few years back (can't remember what for) with a series of home video / YouTube clips of dogs sitting guiltily among stuff they'd destroyed while their masters left them all alone, likely for hours on end: "There are no bad dogs. Only bored dogs". Growing up in a family where dogs were present from before I was born until just a couple of years ago (the lack of which I now find myself processing every single day), I still find that incredibly touching. They're definitely trying to send us a powerful message in the most effective way they know how, even if it means sitting with a guilty look on their face while we 'interrogate' them afterward, and even if we ignore them and never forgive them. I suspect your friend may not have realized the damage she compounded in a highly social animal that was probably otherwise loyal to and dependent upon her for engagement.

So, is that Luke Cage and Frank Castle out of their uniforms or are those the guys that killed them? And they both look like the exact same guy either way.

I'd really love to have been a fly on the wall in the Marvel offices back then. So, we have a new Luke Cage series coming out. What can we do in our popular titles to promote it? Let's put The Punisher in blackface and have him team up with him!
