An issue you can get reasonably cheaply in nice condition, even after the movies. From what I can tell, the Shazam family didn't pick up many new comic readers despite two movies and a spin-off Black Adam movie.

Not surprising. The first movie was decent but the other two were terrible. I found Black Adam to be unwatchable.
I would rather watch the old Saturday morning live action or cartoon of Shazam over any of those three movies any day. Shit, give me the serial from the 40's over the new dreck.

I find both of these covers laughably bad. But its Aquaman so who cares?

His expression just looks dumb to me...almost like Aquaman is taking an aquadump in his aquapants.
Plus, the forced perspective looks funky relating to them and the city. It doesn't look like they standing on a cliff overlooking the city. It looks more like they are next to a sandbox that has some cool toys in it.
Maybe it is just me.

True story - I was browsing the rack of my comic shop when the clerk was pushing the glow-in-the-dark feature so heavily he allowed me to take the issue into the store's bathroom and told me to turn the light off to see the effect.
I get the feeling they had heavily over ordered the issue and needed to move stock.

From what I remember, that Ghost Rider cover and Silver Surfer #50 (silver foil embossed) were Marvel's first gimmick covers.
Both sold well, commanded premium prices on the aftermarket, and ushered in hundreds of copycats (often at premium prices) from not only Marvel but other publishers like DC, Image, Valiant, Dark Horse, and others. Worth noting that the GR 15 and SS 50 didn't carry premium prices, but the ones that followed often sold at twice the cover price for a little dab of foil.
