Same here in Connecticut, but $85 is good enough for me. Can't wait to dig into this one. So many great movies that I haven't seen in years.

Re: Amazon: Blu-ray discounts and deals mega-thread

Another "Final sale" at Amazon is The Talk of The Town on 4K UHD for $13.85. That (the price, not the "Final sale" label) got me to bite.

I've no idea what "Final sale" is intended to imply. Out of print and clearing final inventory? No don't think so. I've also no idea what it actually indicates -- which may be something entirely different. It is not something I recall seeing before on Amazon listings but maybe I just never noticed it.

Final sale = no returns

My guess is that it's just a way for them to clear inventory.

Ahh -- not returnable. Of course -- I don't know why that didn't occur to me. Thanks. I've bought a lot of all kinds of stuff from Amazon (though less lately), but I don't recall ever seeing that designation before.

For the offered price I don't regret taking a small gamble with not returnable.

Amazon copycat sale. Two separate ones are going at the same time on Amazon.com, confirmed by two different websites.
Plus coupons have no link on the site for movies, but do for other items.

Screw u, Jeff. Enjoy your real-life blow-up doll that comes with high mileage.
Okay, off to Amazon resale.

Amazon's "Buy 3 for the Price of 2" Target copycat sale is colliding with modest Prime Day discounts to produce some all-time lows on some title bundles, assuming you can find 3 like-priced items in the "Buy 3" promotion.

For example, you can get Jackie Brown 4K, Kill Bill Vol 1 and Vol 2 4K for a total of $46.98, making them $15.66 per title, their lowest ever, and below Target's sale price of $18.66 per title.

on some titles, the offer wasn’t being reflected at checkout despite showing as qualifying on the respective product pages

I went with these 6 on the 3for2 deal: Galaxy Quest 4K, Lucy 4K, Scooby Doo Complete Series, Alien Outlaw, Invasion of the Bee Girls, Stephen King's The Stand. There were quite a few other Kino Cult titles...but I already had them --Peter

Re: Amazon: Blu-ray discounts and deals mega-thread

I had Oceans Trilogy in my cart for a while, the Prime deal initially dropped it to $35, then to $33 yesterday, then to $31 this morning. It's a part of the B2G1 sale too, so I added animated Lilo & Stitch along with Desperado, so about $20 each after discount.

Never seen the show, but I read and enjoyed the first book. Anyone finish the book trilogy? Any good?

My understanding is the show deviates from the books. That being said, the first couple seasons are sheer magic. The finale of season one is one of television's best episodes this century. Mostly loved the series up until the final season, which is a step down in quality.

I love the show. It's one of my personal favorites. I've only read the few chapters of the first book after I watched the show.

This is only from perusing bluray.com, but yes it seems to be a significant improvement since it was a 4K restoration done by OCN

Do I cave for the Bill and Ted Trilogy for $59?
Amazon Amazon

Hmm. I guess if I can find something to go with it at Target for $65 with B2G1 it would be a better deal over there.

Thank you. I picked up both The Magicians: The Complete Series Blu-ray box set and The Magicians novel trilogy box set (The Magicians, The Magician King, and The Magician's Land) for our oldest daughter's birthday coming up this fall. I know both the books and show learn more toward adult than young adult, but I think she can handle it.

Her reading phases have gone from Harry Potter to Percy Jackson to The Hunger Games in recent years, so I think perhaps The Magicians could be the next direction.

However, I still can't get her to crack open all of my old paperback copies of the Belgariad or Mallorean series by David Eddings or the Dragonlance: Chronicles or Dragonlance: Legends by Weis and Hickman.

How old is your daughter? There's some pretty strong adult themes in the series.
