Limited-time deal

Supernatural: The Complete Series [Blu-ray]
https://a.co/d/dJu78BM $124.99

Not sure how long this will last. Pretty good deal at almost 50% off. I grabbed one.

Same price at Gruv. I'm not sure if the 20% off code still works. There's a sign up on the page for it.

Supernatural was $119 a few couple months ago, including Black Friday . I posted it a few times here, but no one seemed interested

Footloose Steelbook down to $
27.99 on Amazon 27.99 on Amazon
.
(Ignore the incorrect pictures on the Amazon listing that show the Jack Ryan set. If you scroll thru the pictures you will see the actual steelbook cover etc as well as the following picture)

Re: Amazon: Blu-ray discounts and deals mega-thread

Noticed some seemingly random Shout Factory drops. There doesn’t seem to be a corresponding sale at Shout, as far as I can tell, so I’m not sure if this is copying another retailer:

HOWLING 4K $15.99
SWORD & SORCERER 4K $21.99
SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE 2/3 $20.99
HAUNTING OF JULIA 4K $18.99
GHOST STORY Blu $10.99
MUMMY’S SHROUD Blu $15.99
THE HAUNTING 4K $18.99
NIGHTBREED 4K $24.99
MY BLOODY VALENTINE 4K $24.99

There are probably others, but I don’t see any sale link when using my phone, and I’m not sure how these prices stack up against previous sales, so ymmv.

- - - - - - - - - -

Also, Amazon has a ‘Buy One Get One 50% Off’ sale on various products including movies and books (which can be filtered). Seems like a lot of relatively recent and/or mainstream stuff that might have cheaper at Black Friday. Again, I’m not sure if this is matching someplace else:

I did notice it says Buy 2 Get 1 50% OFF on that link you shared. Not sure if this is correct or if Amazon worded this wrong.

Weird, I could’ve sworn it said ‘Buy 1 Get 1 50% Off’ and not ‘Buy 2’ when I first saw it last night. Must’ve been seeing things.

It’s parroting Target’s BOGO but is awkwardly worded. Amazon is saying that if you buy 2 things, one of those two will be 50% off.

Shout has been doing some occasional Amazon-only deals.

Wouldn't surprise me if Amazon changed the terms in mid stream either.

Re: Amazon: Blu-ray discounts and deals mega-thread

The whole BOGO thing has bothered me since people started using it for anything other than a free second item. Technically, "buy two, get one half off" is more accurate than "buy one, get one half off." Headed off to the Pet Peeve thread now . . . thanks, guys.

Has been for a very long time... currently, even if you select DVD/BR or CD they try to push digital first and make it difficult to exclude digital versions from searches.

Re: Amazon: Blu-ray discounts and deals mega-thread

It's my understanding you literally have to pay Amazon as a distributor if you want your stuff popping up in their search engine. That's why often a new release will not pop up even when you type in the name and format on there directly. When I'm hunting niche stuff, I almost always have to use the search on Blu-ray.com to find the actual Amazon page.

Also the problem is when they have those B1G1 etc sales when they are matching BB/Target, that one is a pain and it's better to use google.

I basically gave up on these. The repetition each time it loads a new batch as you scroll down is insane. I don’t understand what benefit there is to Amazon in structuring the experience in such a way that people stop scrolling barely after they’ve started. Instead, I just go through the ‘saved for later’ section of my cart — which is substantial, but not always new or new-ish stuff — and just see if any books or movies I’ve been sitting on for months or years are part of the sale. Then I move them to the cart and group the orders (if any) to get the most savings. But browsing Amazon’s actual sale page when they match Target is an exercise in futility.

Yeah, Amazon's search is just fucking ridiculous.

In order to search for any book, movie, or record on Amazon I have to use google to get the ISBN and then search for that on Amazon.

Almost any time I search for something, the first things that show up are things I didn't actually search for, or if I'm looking for a movie all of the hits will be for foreign releases that won't play on a Region 1/A player. I'd think that Amazon would get hit with a lot returns and pissed off customers when the receive a German copy of a movie they ordered that won't play on their DVD player.

Thanks for posting. I've often wondered why Amazon's search engine is so incredibly lame.
