Re: Amazon: Blu-ray discounts and deals mega-thread

Had two targeted coupons for The Goonies 4K:

https://amzn.to/4iRCpgS

and

It Came from Outer Space 4K:

https://amzn.to/4bZnm2p

See if they work out for you. The Goonies was $5.20 off and total was $11.52 for It Came from Outer of Space. Got them both for $25 basically.

Earlier the Project A 4K collection had a $12.00 off coupon and was part of the sale, so i made an order for that. I went back to check and it looks like the coupon is gone but you can still use it in the sale:

I'm seeing a 30% off coupon on Legends of the Fall 4K. I do have Prime if that makes a difference.

I'm in Texas, and it doesn't have a coupon for me.

Since most of these coupons are regional, it might help to identify the region when we share an Amazon coupon. Amazon's regions include Texas, Southwest, Northwest, Mid South, Mid Atlantic Midwest, Northeast, Great Lakes, and Florida (though there could be more regions).

Unless one is buying really expensive sets, the sale doesn't sound like a big deal to me.

It adds up really quickly. If you’re preordering a bunch of stuff that would typically be $33.99, this promotion saves you $8.50 a pop. Multiply that by a bunch of titles, and that’s pretty significant. It’s not as nice as Target’s B2G1F promos, which wind up being 33% off rather than 25%, but I’m excited about it. And the discount is on top of already discounted prices rather than MSRP.

Aren’t Target’s B2G1 promos based on discounted prices as well, at least in some cases? I’ve bought stuff in a bunch of their sales over the years and can’t imagine I would’ve bothered if the items were strictly MSRP (and I would often build comparison carts at Amazon just to be certain who saved me the most). Mind you, I’ve never done preorders as everything is cheaper further down the road, so I can’t speak to that aspect in these sales. Not that any of it matters to me now as I won’t cross the border in the foreseeable future for, umm, reasons (and Amazon US ships to Canada whereas Target doesn’t) but I do wonder if this B2G50%off1 deal will become the new norm in these economically screwed-up times because they don’t have to offer as significant a savings (?).

They are, yeah. I meant that in contrast to some boutique label-specific sales that are based off MSRP.

Amazon's buy 2, save 50% on one deal stacks with the location coupons. I'm in Texas, and both A Simple Plan and Trick 'r Treat 4ks are priced at $31.65, have 30% off coupons, and are included in the buy 2 sale. My total was $30.83. I thought that was too good to pass up.

Re: Amazon: Blu-ray discounts and deals mega-thread

I've actually picked up several pairs in this Buy 2 Save 50% sale for things that already had decent prices, even without regional coupons. All stuff I either had in my cart or had an eye on at one time or another.

At least I think these prices are pretty good. I paired up items that were close in price. These are the totals to my door including NYS tax (I have Prime):

If I Had a Million [Blu-ray]
Magnolia (Blu-ray)
$20.18

Funny Farm (1988) / Spies Like Us (1985) (Double Feature) [Blu-ray]
A Fistful of Dynamite (Special Edition) aka Duck, You Sucker! [Blu-ray]
$23.89

Mighty Joe Young (BD) [Blu-ray]
Farewell, My Lovely / The Big Sleep Double Feature [Blu-ray] (Shout Select)
$21.09

Matrix, The 4-Film Déjà vu Collection (Blu-ray)
On Golden Pond (Collector's Edition) [Blu-ray]
$23.98

I had ordered Magnolia for a better price from GRUV in a recent sale along with several other titles, but the USPS screwed up the shipping and by the time GRUV replaced the order (which they did quickly and efficiently), they said that Magnolia was no longer available so refunded me on that one.

About half of these are long-overdue DVD upgrades for me. I've never owned a copy of Funny Farm but I think it's one of the most underrated comedies of the 80s (and I'm not a huge Chevy Chase fan by and large). I actually have never gotten around to seeing Spies Like Us.

Target kind of mixes it up with the B2G1 free sales being closer to major holiday periods. Sometimes media is included, sometimes not.

Amazon Amazon

I see an offer of $12.50 off on 2 select items...but no where do I see a link to what other items qualify. Anyone have a clue? (link is for Eureka's Terror in the Fog collection)

No coupon in California. It's $85 and says "Final sale"

Re: Amazon: Blu-ray discounts and deals mega-thread

Someone noted in HD Talk that the LOONEY TUNES VOL. 2 Blu-ray was down to $6.79, and for me at least, it also has a ‘final sale’ tag on it. This smells fishy. Neither of these are likely going OOP or OOS anytime soon, so I wonder if it’s just another marketing trick to make people jump.
