The Star Trek (JJ Abrams movies) 4K are $7.99 each.

I already have all 3 on BD. Are the 4Ks pictures significant upgrades? Does anyone have it and can say whether it's worth it? $8 is dirt cheap, but I don't want to buy it just for the sake of buying it.

Because it did not sell out or fast plus I'm broke.
I'm going to hold off. It went from Limited edition to Print until the license runs out?

That was fast, only Star Trek Beyond is still $8 on 4K.

Also noticed these 'collection' sets that might make good cart filler:

BEVERLY HILLS COP 1-3 - $9.99

STAR TREK ORIGINAL MOVIE COLLECTION 1-6 - $9.99 (don't know much about these; may just be movies-only)

GERARD BUTLER 5-FILM COLLECTION - $12.99

Not the most amazing deal, but The Love Witch is $16.99 on Amazon. Oscilloscope titles don’t drop that often. You can get them discounted on their website 50% sales, but not always the easiest to get free shipping from.

Hmmm ... believe it or not, I still have not seen any of the John Wick movies ... might bite. Thank you lizard!

Don’t know if it is a deal or not (and I still haven’t moved into 4K), but the 4Ks are $7.99 each.

Edit: Bit. $15 for all 3 plus a $3 digital credit. Not bad.

Well I'm one of those "who wanted them but doesn't already have them" people. SIGH! Guess they are price-matching Best Buy as that is what I paid for the 3 movies there.

Target has them at $4.00 each for #1 & #2 & $7.00 for #3 & all 3 are part of the buy 2-get 1 free sale. So you are paying $11.00 for all 3 movies. So $3.00 less than Amazon/Best Buy - only if you don't want to pay for shipping - either by choosing to pick them up or have them be part of a $35 or more order.

I saw one (the second one) after seeing it being promoted for so long. Tirelessly non-stop shooting. I don't think there was a plot, just shooting and a lot.

A fun infographic for the first flick of all of Wick's kills.

Lukewarm deal, the newest version of
Mallrats (BD) Mallrats (BD)
is down to $20. Considering it launchd at $40, 50% off should feel like a deal, but still too high for a non-4k catalog title for me.

Reports of missing audio elements and the necessity to get replacement discs from Warner didn't help word of mouth. Apparently WB gave it a so-so transfer.

Without having seen the first one, the second John Wick movie wouldn't make much sense — it is a direct follow-on to the first one (and the third continues the story from the second one).

That said, they are very violent stories, about a (retired) hitman/assassin who is pulled back into the gangster underworld to seek vengeance, and definitely not for everyone. Nevertheless, they were fairly popular for movies of the type and Keanu Reeves has said that he will keep making them as long as anyone keeps asking him to do so.

The first John Wick was a blast, and stylishly done. And I generally don't care for big action movies. Parts 2 & 3 are on deck.

The first John Wick is the best movie in the series. John Wick 2 has better action scenes, but John Wick has the best story/action blend.

Re: Amazon: Blu-ray discounts and deals mega-thread

Not to detail the thread more, but I was never a big John Wick fan either. Watched the first one on Blu-ray and thought it was alright enough but didn’t blow me away. Saw the second in the theater with my friends and was mostly bored. It’s just a lot of shooting. Never even bothered with the third.

The third is better than the second, but the first is still the best.

Amazon Warehouse deals has an additional 20% off select items at the time of this writing.

The Lenzi/Baker set is available used (not sure how many copies are left) for $55.18 - 20% = $44.14

Amazon has Best of Warner Bros 20 Film Collection: Best Pictures for #19.96. Do note that this is a DVD collection. Personally I prefer to own what I can on Blu but some pretty good movies here, and I'm sure a number of these are not available on Blu, and some are B&W.
