Thanks! I went to another Target and found it. For some reason, Amazon search was only feeding the deluxe BD release, with the book and stuff, but the plain one is coming up for me now.

At less than $5 a movie, hell yes. #4, 5 and 6 are worth that deal on their own.

Looks like these lightning deals aren't lightening as many wallets as they used to.

Also looks like the 3D BR DVD Antman preorder is down to $19.99 though.
EDIT: better deal at Best Buy with the $5 back in rewards for the same price.

Darn just when I thought I wasn't going to buy anything else - someone posts this. Got two of the Spider-Man Trilogy. Been wanting to get these on Buy-Ray. (Almost bought Spiderman 3 for $4.99 as part of the Buy One-Get One Free deal at Best Buy. Passed since Spiderman 1 and Spiderman 2 weren't on sale at $4.99.)

Had to buy one for my cousins kids since I bought them "The Amazing Spiderman 1 and "The Amazing Spiderman 2" DVD/Blu-Ray sets as part of the Buy One-Get One Free deal at Best Buy. (Got both for a nice $5.99.) So they have all five of the Spiderman movies now.

I passed on The Spectacular Spider-Man - The Complete Series - I have it on DVD already - only watched it once - so no upgrade.
Yeah I could get it for my cousins kids but I've already spent enough on them this Christmas. If they want to watch it - they can borrow mine.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray

First time in memory that Amazon truly disappoints on Black Friday week for media sales. I actually only bought one movie from Amazon, and it was only a price match with Best Buy where I opted for Amazon because of quicker deliveries. I thought Best Buy was the best for on-line sales. Got around a dozen from BB most even before BF day. And Walmart surprises with their 3D movie sale. I had no intention of even going to Walmart. But as there were no alternative to getting 3D sale from competitors, these turned out to be door busters for me as I went to 3 Walmart stores just to build a 3D collection. ended up getting a dozen movies from Wally for both 3D and none 3D movies. Now Wally will be a big consideration for the next BF sale.

This is the second year in a row I didn't get anything at Amazon during Black Friday. I'm not going to sit around and try to get in on a two second lightning deal when I can just grab it at Best Buy with free shipping.

Only thing that I bought from Amazon this weekend that was a super deal was Person of Interest season 4 for only $9.99. Bummer that other WB TV shows like Arrow, The Flash, Vampire Diaries, Supernatural didn't follow the same sale patterns with them. While $19.99 each is a pretty good sale price each for them, I felt like I didn't really need them that badly for that price for something I've already seen on TV. I put a few of them on my Christmas wish list.

Is $20 a good price for Twilight Forever: The Complete Saga on BD from Amazon. Forgot to mention "Exclusively for Prime Members."

I agree that the sales on Amazon were disappointing this year. In years past they mostly priced matched but this year the way they made a lot of the hot titles available on sale only briefly as Lighting Deals was incredibly lame. Not really sure I understand their strategy as they always had the edge over retailers but this year it was almost more worth it to just go out to places. I only wound up getting two titles from them the entire week (The Flash: The Complete First Season and John Wick).

Well, that was $19.99 in their site for a long time and only dropped to $9.99 when they finally matched Best Buy. They did have some decent deals on other shows though.

I also posted this in the DVD thread, but it is just as applicable here:

I've kind of mentioned this in other wording lately, but there is so little competition left that Amazon doesn't care; they don't have to. There focus right now is 99% Prime. Other then that, they really don't care a lot about competing as they've already won.

Catch-22. If Amazon fails at being competitive price-wise, then I have no need for Prime.

Well I wouldn't go that far as I still rely on them as there's some items I don't find in stores locally. I will agree that Amazon has been seeming more like they'd just going through the motions recently and not putting in a lot of effort to being competitive which is unfortunate.

Pricewise it's a decent competitor to Netflix (not content-wise, but there's enough) that the free shipping is just a nice added bonus.

That it allows me to order 1 $5 thing every often and fairly-frequently get a free dollar for eBooks and music make the relative-non-competitiveness (VERY relative; they're still as cheap as almost everywhere on almost everything) barely an issue. For me.

Yeah, but Amazon is pushing digital content a lot (kindle books, vod, etc.) and much of that is tied to Prime.

Like someone else said, it seems like Amazon is starting to favor people who have more money than time than they are bargain shoppers.

2015 -- let;s see. Zero purchases. I did PM The Wire at BBY however so not completely a shutout other than somebody other than Amazon got the $$$,
2014 -- $12 I bought 2 items because I didn't want to go back to the store to pick up a LD they PM some other store
2013 -- 15 items for $260.
2012 -- 23 items for $300
2011 -- 38 items for $500
2010 -- 25 itmes for $265

Sure. But your purchases SHOULD go down as you've already picked up *most* of the things that you really want. The format's getting mature.

In addition to the 2013 I spent a lot at BBY, Walmart, Fox and WB (plus the normal B&N). 2014 it was BBY, Deep Discount, Fox,, overall it was less this year other than B&N but 2015 it was mostly BBY and Deep Discount, with some at Walmart.

From posts I made in previous years I went for 75% at Amazon in 2011/2012, to less than 30% or less in 2013, to 2% last year (it's was #9 on the retailer list last BF), obviously incalculable this year in % though this years BF spending is down for other reasons.

Spoiler:

I left off B&N since it;s so hard to tell what's BF and what just regular Criterion, but overall they'd be #1 in November spending over the last few years

2011
1) Amazon $563
2) BBY $100
3) Walmart $75

2012
1) Amazon $400
2)BBY $300
3) Deep Discount 130

2013
1) Fox Connect 350
2) Walmart 300
3) DVD Planet 300
4) amazon 280 (a big % of that was on 3 big box sets that I shipped out of state)
5) BBY 190

2014
Deep Discount 300
Walmart 230
Fox 200
BBY 165
4 other small retails with over $50
Amazon 17

2015
Best Buy 300
Deep Discount 100
Walmart 50
Amazon 0

No doubt, your record keeping is superb. So, you spent $300 dollars at Best Buy this year ... what were those purchases?
