I will only ever buy a "key cart" if they end up being deeply discounted on Amazon at some point to clear out inventory. Otherwise, I won't support Nintendo's decision.

DK is up for preorder and actually has the game on the cart. Got my order placed for launch day.
I wasn't going to watch this morning's Direct since I preordered Bananza back when the consoles first went up, so I was already sold, but after giving it a shot anyway, this is my most anticipated game of 2025 for sure. I'm in awe of the surreal number of mechanics. It looks like it's going to be huge in scale. |

I am starting to think about going digital too now since finding out that load times are faster for games on internal storage.

I'll probably go digital for DKB even though I did preorder it from Costco. |

But yeah, I love the Virtual Card. I ended up giving her my physical copies of Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros. I spent $90 @ Costco.com, got $100 eShop credit, bought 2 vouchers, used those two vouchers on the same two games and now can share MK8 and SSB with my son virtually and have either of us play vs my daughter. Works great. And since I have the NSO with Expansion Family subscription, we all have all the DLC for those two games as well. It's working very well for us.

If you don't mind having your account on her switch, you can basically load any game you own on her switch (and she can play under her profile), though you can only have two switches linked like that.

Over 2800 Switch 2 systems were stolen from a semi in Colorado. Valued at over $1.4M.
Story here: https://www.azfamily.com/2025/06/18/...licks&tbref=hp I assume Nintendo would (could?) remotely brick those systems, right? |

Would they even know the serial numbers of the consoles that were stolen? If not, I'm not sure how they can brick them.

They 100% know the serial numbers.

re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
Once the word gets out, it's going to absolutely kill the eBay market for Switch 2's. Nobody is going to want to buy one at a premium with no idea if it might be a hot one that Nintendo will brick remotely.

I think so. When I returned mine to Walmart, they said my Serial Number 'didn't match'. No idea why, I returned it in a still-sealed box. But clearly the order had some serial number attached to it.

re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
I’m very early in Bakeru, but if you want a cute action-platformer to tide you over until Bananza, what I’ve seen so far comes highly recommended. It’s a Switch game but performs much better on the Switch 2, where it’s a consistent 60fps rather than the uneven framerate on the OG Switch.

Great launch for Mario Kart World, not so much for 3rd parties so far…

Whoa...so what happened? They scan the SN directly from the system itself so that it matches. I left my returns too in the packaging so they would at least be less sus. The Walmart lady did carefully peal off the sticker and peaked in there. The Target lady didn't. It is a much riskier proposition to purchase a third party console now.

Though it can still be true that third-party sales are comparatively better on the Switch 2 yet still low. Third-party fortunes certainly improved for the Switch over time, and hopefully that’ll shake out for 2 as well. |
re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
Yeah I'm not sure percentage numbers are the best indicator if we don't have total sales. Plus are they counting the bundled software because I'm sure a LOT of people got Mario Kart in the bundle if they could.
Looking at the Switch 1 US launch, the only 1st party games were... Breath of the Wild, 1-2 Switch, and Snipperclips (Snipperclips didn't have a cart but it did have a card IIRC so not sure if that counted). In comparison to even Mario Kart, I'd think BotW was a bigger system seller even though it also launched on WiiU, and it wasn't bundled in. And the switch 2's version of 1-2 switch had no physical release, right? |
re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
Anyone know when Nintendo might announce the next lineup of GameCube games coming out? Thanks.

re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25
Were any S2 3rd party launch titles no games which already came out on other systems years before? I know the Director's Cut of Yakuza is technically new, but the game is old.
Those titles would only be purchased by people who only have Nintendo products and never played them before. |
