Do a search with your order number and it'll show up. My order was for both Bayonetta 3 and MP4. Due to elapsed time, the order dropped off from being viewable in my account except with order number search. Bayonetta had shipped under these conditions.

I don't like it at all, but looking at how much it cost to develop and market a game. It's really surprising that the price of games has stayed the same for this long.

I didn't know about the history with Nintendo and Amazon, so I can go ahead and count them out.

But despite big budgets, game companies are still making profits. Granted they want to make more profits but there isn't a single failed game that failed because they sold a lot of copies but didn't charge enough, at least not that I can think of. And look at computer games, have they gone up (besides console ports) at that rate? I feel like we're making excuses for them to charge us more when we don't need to.

Kind of makes you wonder what the price would have been had this launched in 2024 when Nintendo was initially planning. I bet it would have hit that $399.

Which then would have been raised to 450 (or more) as soon as the tariffs (24%) hit. I'm actually kind of wondering if this price will be raised after the initial launch too considering I doubt many actually expected 24% tariffs against Japan and 46% against Vietnam.

I hate that they have ditched the faux leather feeling grips on the new pro controller. That was one of my favorite things about it.

If I wanted this game, this would be the reason why. But I've decided Mario Kart simply isn't for me. I bought both the Wii and Wii U incarnations, and put them away less than an hour after playing. Racing games just aren't my thing, I guess, but I did give them a try. I didn't bother getting 8 Deluxe for Switch and I won't get this one either. I think a launch 3D Mario game on Switch 2 would have been the motivation for a day-one purchase.

Okay I guess that makes 'sense', if you really like the carts (and if the carts, you know, still contain the game). I don't see much logic in paying a 38% premium for a game case, but for those who collect, sure. Lord knows I've paid more than that for a Steelbook edition of a Blu.
I still think MKW will have close to 100% attachment to launch Switch 2s.

And I'm still not convinced I need one before DK Bonanza launches.

I don’t think pointing out that your 7 year old game will finally have a playable frame rate on a new console is the flex Nintendo thinks it is.

All it takes is a $450 new console and a paid game upgrade!

For those who care about where the game data lives, Play Asia's listing for Elden Ring points out that it's a Gamekey, or whatever the hell Nintendo is calling it. Purely for activation and starting a download.

No extra battery size but more weight! Switch 2 weighs 1.17lb with Joycons, compared to the .88 of the current standard model.

It’s too bad Metroid Beyond isn’t a launch title. I know they’ll have it for 1 too, but still would have been a better sell than MKW, imo.

They're offering launch PS4 (2013) tech at a PS5 Pro (2024) price. Also paying more should include more features not less (no OLED, worse battery, etc) than it's predecessor. You don't evolve tech and then go backward.

Interesting seeing the backlash. Nintendo could be looking at another WiiU on the horizon. They were high on their own supply with the Wii and thought people would just lap up the WiiU. Here we are again and they're high on their own supply with the success of the Switch and think they can charge whatever they want. It was the same with Sony coming off the PS2. Those that don't learn from from history...

I think a lot of you are forgetting it’s a handheld device. You’re comparing a PS5 (have you picked up that thing lately? Seriously it’s monsterous) to a Switch. Smaller than a Chromebook.

Once I got a PS Portal, my switch gaming took a nose dive. Never say never, but right now this looks like an easy pass for me.

Will this turn into a Wii to Wii U misfire?

Really? What the Switch should have been? Back in 2017 When they Nintendo invented the entire device category of a portable home console? It should have been 4k 60p or with a 1080p 120hz screen? Some of the PC handhelds don’t have those kind of specs today and cost the same or more than the Switch 2.

and the PS Portal? That’s what you’re comparing it to? That’s not even a system. It’s a screen and a controller. And it isn’t perfect by any means. And extremely limited compared to and actual game system.

I enjoy some McNuggets every so often. But I wouldn't pay $30 for a 10 piece just because they taste good.

Also, comparing a Switch to a full PC portable is not apples to apples.

How in the world is $299 the right price. That was 8 years ago. Look around. You still paying the same price for those McNuggets that you were 8 years ago???

You joke but I have to assume both Sony and MS are paying VERY close attention to the response to Nintendo's pricing. Both hardware and software. Especially MS, who's rumored to be very close to announcing a new handheld.

Maybe it was Sony who drew first blood with the PS5 Pro at $700. But they got made fun of for that pricing too so not sure what lesson Nintendo took from that if any.

At first glance it’s pretty disappointing about the OLED. But I’m highly impressed by the 1080p 120 Hz screen. Many PC handhelds don’t have that fast of a refresh rate. And it has a variable refresh rate screen so will adapt to whatever the game requires. That may have been the reason to ditch the OLED for the VRR and 120 Hz. And of course for an upgrade path in the future.

Seems like it’s just certain regions that might charge more for physical than digital. The US seems to be the same price. For now…

I’m not sure why they would do that. The only advantage the wave bird had was wireless connectivity. The first controller to have reliable rf wireless connectivity. And it had a lot of negatives as well like no rumble and a wireless doohicky and batteries to worry about.

GameStop is going to take pre-orders on the 9th, but I don't have 8 to 10, maybe more hours to stand in line in hopes of getting one. Amazon maybe?

Online. BB will likely go live at 0100 EST Target at 0200. Not sure on WM 0300?

Again. It’s a HANDHELD device. And PS5 pro? It’s $250 less than that.

I’m right there with you guys and everyone else. I’m mad at Nintendo mainly for the game prices and the stupid game key card thing. (Although again that’s a limit use thing. Seems to be taking the place of the code in a box thing.) Hopefully it stays that way. The console price I’m not happy about either but at least that’s a one time cost and at least we’re (seemingly) getting a pretty great console out of it.

But expecting them to sell it for $300 or comparing it to the PS5 pro is pretty ridiculous. We do have a pretty powerful system. Nvidia released a statement on the power of it and said does have the capability of DSLL and ray tracing. And is 10 times more powerful than the Switch. I don’t know about all that. But it is capable of 1080p 120 hz and 4k 60p. That’s already very impressive and something that I was hoping for but wasn’t sure if they would be able to do it.

I’m VERY interested to see what Nintendo will do (if anything) about the backlash. All of the problems that people are mad about could potentially go away with one announcement from them. So the good news is at least the hardware and the experience seems to be good. It’s more policy and pricing. I know there’s a snowballs chance in hell that will happen. Especially after “Liberation Day”.

But….its not without precedent. Remember the botched 3DS launch? They apologized, dropped the price and gave a bunch of goodies to early adopters. Even something like lowering the cost of MKW by $10 measly dollars and including that stupid tech demo would go a long way to quell the haters. At least a little bit.

I’m worried that Nintendo is just totally unaware/uncaring of the backlash. They had Reggie to convince them to include Wii Sports as a pack-in with the Wii and the rest was history.

I’m not sure about this Bowser guy. Seems kind of sketch…

I’m still getting one at launch. Although I’m much less excited about than I was until just after the direct was over. Here’s my reasoning.
  • I’m a huge Nintendo fan. Even though I didn’t get a Wii U or Switch at launch. I’m able to this time so I’m there day 1.
  • The price isn’t coming down so it’s pointless to wait from my perspective if I know eventually I’ll pick one up. There’s really zero advantage to waiting.
  • Biggest reason is Nintendo specifically said that the MKW bundle is for a limited time only. I think they even said only until the Fall? So that means they’re serious about wanting to charge $80 for MK and want to get it out of a bundle ASAP so that right there saves me $30 over waiting.
  • I can’t wait to pay $80 for a 3 year old Kirby game!

The more I think about it, the more pissed I am about them charging for Zelda system upgrades. Both Xbox and Playstation gave free generation upgrades for all their games for literally years. Now even when Sony does a major PS5 upgrade, years later, like with TLoU Part 2 or the upcoming Days Gone, they're only asking $10 for the upgrade.

Based on the pricing of the bundle pack I think it is a $10 up charge.

But yes ridiculous how they’re handling it. All the games they’re releasing like that are years old and minimal upgrades, at least with the Zelda games. They should have released it as Switch 2 games complete on the cart at their original selling price. $60 and $70 for TotK. With of course an upgrade option for those that have it already. I’m not sure how much they added to Kirby and Mario Party so maybe that’s worth a DLC price. But yes. The way they are parading Switch Games as Switch 2 games even in Switch packaging but they’re really just Switch games with Switch 2 upgrades but PRICED exactly like just buying the Switch game AT FULL price and a forced upgrade?? Seriously Nintendo?? You didn’t think about the optics of having a “Switch 2” Kirby game with an $80 price tag?! Selling BotW an 8 year old game for $70?!

I'm looking forward to getting one. I don't care about all the BS that comes along with it. do I agree with it? absolutely not, but we can't do anything, so I'll just buy the Switch 2 which is much better in every way than the Switch 1. I'm looking forward to this new one and the power it harnesses now. plus, I was always a Nintendo fanboy and I thank goodness I am once again.

Nostalgia. I said replica, not a recreation. Just the shell on a working controller. There are people out there who buy every controller and maybe multiples of some just for multiplayer.
