My system is still fucked. Can play PS4 game, can play AC Valhalla, Astro's Playroom, Bugsnax. Crashes with Watch Dogs Legions, Miles Morales and Immortals Fenix Rising. Basically it can play only one new PS5 game and I don't really like that game.

Nothing has worked for suggested fixes. Sony isn't accepting the system back. Calls to service are useless, I am told to wait for a magic patch that will fix everything. It's so disappointing.

That certainly sucks. Can you just pay for a repair? That's what I had to do with my first RROD before it was commonplace. IIRC I was reimbursed later once it was a widespread issue.

Also, you don't like Astro?

No way I will pay to repair it. Plus I do believe them that it's a software issue since some games do work fine. But even they have no real idea what the problem is. Reading Reddit, some few have gotten Sony to replace their console (took less than a week apparently), but I haven't been successful yet. Now that it's affecting a third game (Immortals), I might give them a call today. They were closed yesterday when I tried.

Yes, I liked Astro's Playroom but have completed all the collectables and am ready for some other games.

So if PS4 games work can you boot up PS4 versions of the games that don't work like MM? Obviously not the ideal way to enjoy a new console, but it would at least be a way to play the games while waiting for a patch.

I can play the PS4 version of Watch Dogs Legions on the PS5. But I bought a PS5 version of Miles Morales Ultimate Edition, a physical disc version, so I am stuck there. Ditto Immortals Fenyx Rising.

Nobody should have to jump through hoops to get their new product to work properly. Imagine having to hold your mouth just right every time you go to start your brand new car. They owe you a replacement console. There is no magic fix coming. Something tells me it is a hardware issue being flexed by certain games.

Hell, that external drive for PS4 games is about the only way I can play games on my PS5.

(And for the record, after I wiped my SSD and reinstalled the OS, I played some PS5 games before reconnecting my external HDD and it still crashed. So that isn't the issue -- at least for me).

I got the PS5 version of Miles so I won't use it for that and I won't use rest mode. Hopefully it works. Seems like this should really be patched by now...

My wife threw out the base attachment thing ("I didn't think you need that"), which I hadn't put on yet bc it's horizontal but I was going to attach it for stability. I cannot find any you can buy separately. Super. Any ideas? Ugh.

You have to use it if you are keeping it horizontally. It's not stable without it.

Nowhere near the issue Decker is going through, but I think I have a faulty controller. After two hours of playing on a full charge, the battery goes dead. I can't find a controller charger anywhere. It takes around seven hours to charge it. I guess I will have to wait until after Christmas to try and find any accessories.

wario64 tweets about stock updates for these. Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy had them yesterday, for instance. I was able to get my order in at Best Buy then, and it's supposed to be here on Friday.
