there's no way all those games come out in the first year, I don't care what they say. If we can get Horizon 2, though, I'll be happy.

Maybe,maybe not.

I find it curious that they started the show showing off GTA 5, yet again. I get that Rockstar is popular but geez it came out on the PS3.

The Digital version is the one I may get. May be cheaper, too, since it'll be losing the disc drive.

re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

The presentation didn’t knock my socks off. I know it doesn’t appeal to the masses but I really want to see things like load time comparisons. Its been really hyped in comments that they are almost nothing and I want to see it. A few games look promising. Returnal, Death Loop, new Resident Evil and Horizon. Hit man 3 also but I imagine there will be a PS4 version of that. I own both ps4 and Xbox one but told myself I would only buy one system this generation and neither has sold me on being a day one purchase yet. Not a big fan of either design. Prefer horizontal and black, but not big and clunky, and neither system meets that.

I think it's sexy as hell. Sleek and modern. I don't want a boring ass black box for a console. All three last gen consoles Xbox One, PS4 & WiiU are three of the most boring/lazy designs in gaming history.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales (horrible title) is fucking awesome. I wasn't expecting that so soon after the first game. Make that a launch title and PS5s will be flying off shelves.

Disc based all the way for me. Options > limitations. Have they said anything about supporting 4k discs yet? Skipping it on the PS4 Pro was a huge blunder, IMO.

I must be way out of touch because both of these systems aesthetically look terrible to me.

Had a feeling Sony's system wouldn't look that good but that doesn't bother me. I really do like the tower style for the new Xbox though. I agree with the person who mentioned wanting to see load times - either way, neither of these new consoles has wowed me at all yet.

I like the way they look and will echo Michael's feelings. The launch PS3 was an eyesore, the launch PS4 was better but the Pro is damn ugly. The less said about MS design choices the better.

What are the chances they sell the horizontal stand separately?

Horizon is the one. Despite no actual gameplay in the trailer, that's what I'm most excited about.

I’m assuming it’s just one stand that doubles as either a horizontal or vertical one.

This quote on Twitter cracked me up. Probably because it’s the first thing I thought when I saw the design too.

ps5 looks straight up like the default free router you get from your ISP in 2003.”

re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I read that Astro’s Playroom comes preloaded on the PS5. If that was mentioned during the presentation, I completely missed it. That was one of the titles I was most excited about (and I was excited about a bunch!), so that’s nice to see.

I went in hoping to see Horizon, Ratchet and Clank, and Spider-Man, so I can’t say I was disappointed! Kena: Bridge of Spirits and Returnal both really caught my eye. Looking forward to seeing gameplay of Stray. If Bugsnax gets a physical release, it’ll probably be under the Christmas tree for my wife (depending on what the Forza situation looks like for 2020).

The only letdown for me was no price/release date. Well, it would’ve been nice to know how Last of Us II and Ghost of Tsushima will benefit from the new hardware too, but I can see why they’re saving that for later. Wish they’d have done the same for GTA V. Why lead with that?!

The only things I can think of are that Sony was supposed to be entering into some kind of deal with Rockstar (Guess this is it?) and they know a lot of people are still playing GTA 5 Online. They want to roll them right over to the PS5 hence the free to PS5 owners comment.

Using the optical drive and the controller as a point of reference, the PS5 appears to be roughly 25%-30% taller than the XSX.

Is an 825 GB drive enough space? Some single games are already up to 100GB alone.

That was better than I was expecting. The console looks great and that was a stellar reel of games.

Decisions, decisions... I don't buy physical copies of games anymore, but I would hate to miss out on a 4K Blu-Ray player. One of them, Microsoft or Sony has got to blink and give us a date, price and pre-order information. It's already June 11th and we still don't know any of that for both systems. People aren't made of money, especially this year. It makes me wonder if both will be pushed back to 2021.

I don't think it is a deal, unless that in-game $ thing is it. The series X is getting the remaster too.

The game that caught my eye the most was Death Loop. That looked badass. Fortunately it is only a timed exclusive to PS5

With my set up, I would have to do it horizontally.

If you have a 4K television and are interested in 4K movies, then I say go for the drive version. 4K movies on disc have only gotten cheaper now and you can find so many good ones on sale these days.

Spending money on any game console is a huge investment. So I get you're having to think hard about time you have and money.
