I have a cosmic red controller and it is definitely not red. Fuscia or magenta more than red.

The white doesn't bother us either, it fits with our white TV stand.
It's the weird curves and size that stand out the most.

Yeah, the pricing is shit, but I love the purple controller so I might have to splurge on the case to match.

I haven't heard much talk about Hogwarts Legacy, but I think it looks pretty good, but it looks like the combat could get a little repetitive.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

As much as I like the Dualsense controllers, the springs for the R1/2 and L1/2 are crap. I messed up my R2 button in one controller playing Maneater and the other one is definitely going to give out soon. I'm not hitting harder than when I was playing game on my PS3 and PS4 since I still have my original PS3 and PS4 controllers.

I bought the metal springs on Amazon and I will be installing them using YouTube. I'm not going to pay for shipping to return them to Sony and wait how long for them to get back to me.
Is it just me or did any of you had similar experiences?

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Has there been any discussion if the PS5 is going to get Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos?

My Sony UBP-X700 died yesterday and it stinks that the PS5 doesn't have those features but my former $200 4K player does

It has Atmos for 4K/BD discs, but doesn't stream it on digital 4K content.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

So my console wouldn't recognize my controller the other night. I'd click my avatar to log into the console and it would go back to "press PS button on controller." Wired, wireless, it didn't matter I couldn't get past that screen.

With limited research it appears to be another side effect of using Sleep Mode vs. shutting down the PS5. The workaround (hold power button until second beep & turn on console with controller logged in) didn't work for me. I simply unplugged the console for 24 hours and things seem to be fine now.

Guess I'm not using Sleep Mode anymore.

I wish and hope Sony actually allows and puts in 1440p. I'm using a 32" Gaming Monitor that can hit 165hz...ASUS....love to see 1440p and even Widescreen Support...

On a side note....Sony has acquired Haven Studios...which established a year ago by Jade Raymond, who founded Ubisoft Toronto and Motive Studios ....PlayStation Acquires Jade Raymond’s Haven Studios - Game Informer

A welcome addition. VRR coming to PS5. Also works games that don't officially support it: https://www.theverge.com/22992420/so...e-release-date

Same thing happened to me. My controller that came with the console started drifting so bad, I was no longer able to use it. I had to go and buy another controller. I so wish the would make a dualshock controller for the PS5. The dualsense controllers are nice at first, but I am so over them.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

One of my DualSense controllers is giving me a hard time again. (Can't remember if it's the same one as last time.) It'll turn the console on, and it behaves fine in Safe Mode, but it won't actually do anything otherwise -- gets stuck at the "Press PS button" screen and is completely non-responsive if I switch controllers mid-stream. When I had this happen before, I was able to circumvent it by tricking the console into doing a firmware update for the controller. No dice this time. I can get it to start the process if I disable Bluetooth and have the controller plugged in, but it craps out at 3%, the controller turns off, and I get a CE-119224-9 error. (I get exactly one Google hit -- errr, in English, anyway -- for this error, and it's someone who was also stalling at 3%.)

I still have 2 other DualSenses to fall back on, so it's not the end of the world, but pretty annoying just the same.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Multiple user question. I have 2 PS5’s. My kids has the “Home” ps5 in his room with sharing enabled. We have one in the basement and my other kids wants to play. Though I’m logged in when he clicks in horizons it says “must purchase”. So this mean if I enabled sharing on the basement we’d have to buy the same games again that my older kid is playing on the PS5 in his room? Sucks if so

I'm guessing you bought the digital version and not the disc version? If you have the disc version, you should just be able to pop the disc in and play after it installs.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Digital version should work the same way as last gen. On the console where sharing is enabled (only one per account) you can play the game with any profile, on your other ps5 you have to be logged in as yourself (and you can only be logged into one console at a time). So if you bought digital what you described (the non sharing enabled console playing on the profile that bought the game) should be allowed.

Obviously if you bought the disc only one can play at a time because you need the disc.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I couldn’t find an individual thread for the new Gran Turismo game but this new game has been marred by the always online aspect, microtransactions and server issues. I wanted to get the game on release day but I’m glad that I held off.

A considerable fix would be taking the always online off.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

Hey, is there any way to edit what game/apps show up on the main menu?

I'm talking about the 8 items on top here...

I know there's options to keep up to 5 on there, and when you play one, it'll show up there, and drop one.
But is there a way to add/remove items without having to start them up?

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

You know, I still find myself a little peeved that all the backwards compatibility talk basically turned out to be nothing. Just PS4 stuff.

Was there any serious possibility that there was going to be anything for the first three generations of games?

There is about to be lots of streaming BC games through whatever the new subscription service will be called. We will learn more next week.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I wish they would do some kind of thing where if you can prove you have the disc by putting it into the console it will give you a free download of it but that’s clearly asking too much.

That's kind of what happens with PS4 to PS5 upgrades. But you have to put the disc in the machine every time to prove you still have the game and didn't sell it or return it to a friend.

Re: PlayStation 5 - 11/12/20

I think they could have it both ways and make people happy. Just put random checks in place so that not every time you boot up you need the disc. Every 5th- 8th time playing the game or something.

I don't usually have an issue with it though. I just leave the disc in until I'm done with it.

Yeah, I have no problem with needing the disc in. I pretty much play one game until I am done with it.
