Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Anyone else getting screwy data on their Fly-Fight-Win final standings? I had 764 and was ranked 18, but the post-event summary screen is showing 614, rank 57. If I go into and look at standings, it still has the correct info, so hoping I get the correct reward.

Yeah, same thing happened to me. I was all WTF! Then I clicked on the actual summary and it still had me at #15 instead of #29.

Also, don't these events usually end at 12 EST? I shielded at 9:30 and was a bit peeved when I had to shield a second time when the match continued after I thought it had ended. Seems like a cheap way to skim some HP off of people.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I've noticed that too, Dave. Seems like every time I run together 5 or so victories without using a pack the enemy team will dump a huge combo on me, drop tiles for up to 15-20 seconds, get enough ap to charge their powers 2 or 3 times over and smoke me. I think there is an algorithm that kicks in to screw you if you are doing too well. I've seen the enemy have up to 5 criticals in one turn too. Happened too many times to be purely coincidental.

Is quick reply not working for anybody else?

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I really wish they would have kept environment tiles and added one team-up ability per match on the same icon but it used the ability's native color. This way I could easily add a power to a team that otherwise would have no use for that color.

Yeah, the team up thing is buggy and in such a way that it hurts players more than enemies.

Paying for 10 packs is totally worthless now. It makes zero financial sense. You would do better to spend the HP on sheild hopping to get that 1100 point cover progression reward than buying a 10 pack. If your aliance is top 100, that 1100 point total will probably get you a top 5 finish, so a total of 5 3* covers in a PvP event.

The team you face will always have 3 random Team Ups and they can have team ups with characters you are facing. They may change that in the future (I hope). Some people are complaining that they are getting hit by supernovas on seed teams.

I've also had several rounds in the current PVE that feature 1 tile-swapper and 2 goons, where team ups have been called in after the tile swapper's down. That kind of seems like bullshit to me.

My biggest complaint about the new team ups? You can't discard them. I've got 3 different lvls of Venom. I don't want it. I want to get rid of it. The only way to do that is to use it. Uhhhh

This happened to me twice last night, both on the same mission: the Captain Marvel essential one with 2* Daken and 2 grenadiers. Both times Daken went down and then Sentry's World Rupture (I think) came out.

Does anyone know what the number on the Team Up card means? I know the color is just to remind you of which power it is without relying on the name, but the number is a mystery to me.

I'm assuming it indicates the number of covers for the power, as they all seem to be 5 or less.

Oh, that would make sense. Only that my Thor's green "Call the Storm" says 3 but my cover level is 5. And Classic Storm's blue "Wind Storm" says 4 instead of 5. You're probably right about the intent, just another bug.

I think the team ups will end up being cool, they just need to do a lot of tweaking. Incidently, if you are into buying HP with real money, it is on sale for Android platforms (30% off) until the 5th, I think.

Isn't it based on the character you faced, not your own character, though?

Team up Supernova's wiped me out a few times. I'm also maxed on covers and always forget to equip them.

Oh hey, we can change the thread title since the game is no longer just Dark Reign now!

Right? This is my biggest problem. Just assign 3 random ones, if nothing else. I can always reassign or just ignore them.

I've found a fully leveled up Classic Storm with her passive ability maxed is a pretty good counter to the Supernova. You just need to make sure your other two characters are taking most of the damage during the match. Supernova will push them all under 50%, causing her to unleash three rounds of 2003 damage (more in the boosted PVE) to the full enemy team. Granted, your team needs health after, but at least you win the round.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

It's hard for me to max her yellow when her other powers are so good, though... did you do 3 blue or 3 green? Regardless, I finally maxed her out for this PvE and she just dies continuously (because she's boosted and "tanks").

The one time Supernova didn't make me tear my hair out (when it actually went off ) was when it went off after I deployed Falcon's shield power.

About the shield hopping to 1100, how do you actually do it? Even with a maxed Hulk and Punisher team up, I find myself getting swatted anywhere above around 600. So do you shield, get three favorable draws, quickly unshield and take them out, then shield again? Seems like you'd only get around 100 points max each time (and usually by that time I'm getting 120+ leveled teams at 20 a piece).

My bad, I thought I had her yellow maxed, but I've actually got 5 blue and 4 each for green & yellow. Her blue & green are both strong active powers, but the yellow has kept me from losing dozens of matches where I was either outmatched or got hit by crazy cascading & powers. In the current PVE, I tank blue with OBW and only match green/yellow if I'm forced to or if I can see the other team doesn't have enough AP to use a power.

As for shield hopping, I just looked that up on the D3 forums. No thanks. It's people doing pretty much exactly what you describe and you have to buy lots of hero points to make it effective. The key seems to be keeping your shield long enough for everyone you beat to retaliate against you, then hop out for 10-15 minutes win matches and shield again.

I love opening the app to find I've been pushed over the next reward threshold in PVP due to fending off attackers.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

How does defense work now, though? I haven't played PvP since the update came out, but when you attack someone do they get a random Team up assigned to them? If not, attacking people at equal levels just became a lot easier.
