Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I noticed the higher my score got in PvP the more 2 star covers I got.

Geez, hopefully I'm never placed in that high of a bracket!

I'm wondering, if you wait to join a bracket until later in the event, do they place you in a lower bracket (maybe just because it's probably more casual people not starting the event immediately?). That's what I've done the last few times and I've been placed in easy brackets and able to finish at least Top 50 if not Top 25.

I waited until last night to join and it didn't make a difference. I think your bracket placement it based on how you scored in the last tournament. That's why people purposely place poorly in the lightning rounds.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I had 680 pts in God Of Lies and ended up #72.

In the last 2-3 events, that score would have gotten me in the Top 5. I recently had a Top 10 and a Top 25 finish, and now it's a Top 100 finish. So it seems they're putting me in harder brackets based on my past rankings.

Man, I just barely got that Daken cover. I had to grind those battles over and over again. In the last 30 minutes I was only getting 80-100 pts each. Then with only 2 minutes left, I had to watch the time tick down as I dropped from 140 to 149. Another 30 seconds and I probably would have missed out.

I assume we are refering to Oscorp Heroic. I kept dropping as well, ended up with 30651 and 56th. But yeah, had to keep fighting the same battles over and over again. I wish you could trade covers, I would gladly trade my Daken that I'll get for this for a Punisher or Patch cover...I just did it for the hero points. I just want as many spots as possible for characters.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I got a standard recruit token from a friend and it gave me the Modern Thor... It says its a 3 * gold character and is currently level 15.

I have the Marvel Now Thor which looks to have the same powers... Is one of them better than the other? The differnce I notice is that the Marvel Now Thor is only 2* so he can't level up as much as a 3*... I have the Marvel Now Thor's powers at 2 red, 1 Yellow, and 3 Green (which is nice as it damages all enemies).

I also got a Black Widow Original cover which is 2* at level 6 with 1 blue. I have the Modern Black Widow at level 40 1* with both her Purple and Blue powers at 5. I don't use her as often as my Level 50 Modern Storm.

The 3 star Thor is exactly the same, bit he can be built up to a higher level with more HP.

I'm pretty sure they call that version of Thor, "Lazy Thor". Meaning, the 3* is the exact same version as the 2* except you can level him up higher and his powers do more damage though they perform the same abilities. I could be wrong though .

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Thanks... that's what I thought... I'll probably just sell off the 3* cover then as I have the 2* one built up more and those covers come rare enough as it is.. Now, if I could use those powers I leveled up to give a jump start to the 3* Thor, I would.. but it doesn't work like that.

Since I picked up a tablet recently, I've started playing this again. Feel free to send me an invite to the Alliance if that's an option.

Wish I was in your bracket. I had 32,499 and ended up 170th. Annoying as hell, as I stayed up until 11:15 to break into the top 100 and thought there was no way I'd fall out of the top 150 in the last 45 minutes. I still don't get the scoring on this event, as I felt like I played it exactly as I normally do for the PVE ones, but placed way, way lower than I'm used to. Oh well. At least it gave me an excuse to build my ISO back up to ~60k. Now I'm just waiting for enough 3* covers for a good character to start sinking it into them.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Is it just me, or are the awards taking much longer to hand out? It's 9+ hours after the Oscorp event, and I still haven't gotten the awards. And some of the other events have been taking a couple hours.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Honestly, I think I only got in a "good" bracket because I had only been playing for about 2 weeks. Next time, I'll probably be more like the rest of you folks.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I've been having problem with the game all morning. At first I couldn't connect to the servers. Now that I can connect, when I win a battle the points aren't added to my score. And I still haven't gotten any awards from last night's event.

Yeah, I can't connect this morning too. At first I was getting Facebook connection errors, now the game won't load. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

game was flaky for me as well this morning.

I got my Heroic 10 pack yesterday. only 2 duds (bagman and draken). got a couple hulks and managed to max out my Astonishing Wolverines abilities. I also got an Invisible Woman cover, my first. I guess I'll have to hope i get enough HP to open a new spot before it expires or else dump someone else.
Is Psylocke required for many events? i remember one when i first started but havent seen any since

Man, I wish there was a way to trade covers in this game. Most of those "useless" covers you guys get would be like gold to me. One man's trash is another man's treasure or however that saying goes, lol!

Oscorp: Heroic ended almost 24 hours ago and it's still "rewards pending" for me. :headscratch:
