The problem with the TVs is, that they are not compared with Vizio, everyone knows that they are not at the same level, they are compared with Samsung, and Samsung is always cheaper. Not $500+ cheaper like a Vizio. But $200-$300 cheaper. And with the same or better PQ quality. And of course Samsung went all full on with their Smart TVs, where Sony is behind.

Sony always pulls the proprietary bullshit too. I avoid their consumer products (less the PS4) at all costs. Samsung and Panny make exceptional TV's and are slightly cheaper - win.

Sony buying dev kits from Microsoft and Nintendo? May go the way of Sega?

No Multiplayer For The Order: 1886

I consider it good news. I'm getting tired of mediocre multiplayer being shoehorned into good single-player games (Tomb Raider, Last of Us, etc).

I agree with Groucho. I'm glad its single player focused. I would like to see more dedicated single and mutiplayer games made, like The Order and Titanfall. I think few games are excellent at both.

Well with the Order:1886 you have four distinctive characters, all of which will surely have something the other three don't have or excel in. So logically you would like to see four individual players playing these at once. This is in line with Borderlands, Halo, Gears of War types. If the focus is now on single player then you'll either be totally solo or with the AI in tow.

I agree. It's better to build a game with a certain kind of gameplay in mind and work to the strengths of that type, as opposed to making one kind of game and then tossing in a few measly pieces to the other type.

Yup. I'm all for multiplayer when its necessary. But I can't stand when it's tacked on for no more. I'd much rather see developers allocate resources to the single player campaign.

I agree as well. Even if it is a decent multiplayer mode, it could take time and resources away from the single-player and/or unnecessarily delay the game. Also, there's plenty of other games that have great multiplayer modes already if you need to scratch that itch.


You know, I hadn't thought about it, but beside my Playstations, I haven't really bought any Sony products in more than a decade as well. My TV's a Panny, my receiver's a Yamaha, my phone's a Samsung, my music player's an Apple iPod plugged into a Logitech speaker, my home audio is JVC.... and so on. My car stereo's a Sony, but that's just what my car came with, stock, so I didn't really have a choice in that. And honestly, I would love to switch it out.

I'm curious how single player only games sales have been. It's probably hard to say because so many have multiplayer shoehorned in, but unfortunately I tend to look at single player games (and those with crappy multiplayer too) as wait-for-the-pricedrop games.

Co-op =/= Multiplayer

Co-op is always welcome, IMO. However, I'll always rally against tacked on MP. Seems like the Order would have been perfect for co-op, but this year needs releases. If it does well then they could address co-op for a sequel.

Dynasty Warriors Premieres On New-Gen With Xtreme Legends Complete Edition

Dynasty Warriors is making its first appearance on a new-gen console with the release of Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition next month.

The game arrives on March 25, alongside the PlayStation 3 version of the game, which lacks the "Complete Edition" subtitle. To make matters slightly confusing, however, the PlayStation Vita version of the game (which releases the same day) will also be called Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition. You can check out some screenshots for the PlayStation 4 version of the game in the gallery below.

Xtreme Legends is a re-release of last year's Dynasty Warriors 8 with new episodes for Lu Bu, five new characters upping the total count to 82, more hypothetical scenarios, expanded Ambition and Challenge modes, and and an added Ultimate difficulty level.

For me, co-op is tolerable as long as no trophies are tied to it.

Co-op Story mode I think is what they were getting at.

When I had a PS2 the original and first one was by far my favorite game. I played it like I played GOW and Halo on the 360. Never did play any of the other series. it's more like a arcade melee quick pace semi-strategy rumble smash beat em' up mega bodies flying all-over game.

When I played there were only a few characters and no co-op so times have changed. If you're tired of traditional or high tech shooters and would just like to "beat people up on a mega large scale"...this is it.

Just got my PS4, i'm officially next gen!

A couple of things I would like for them to fix:

1. Differentiating your friends list so that the players that only play on the PS4 will load when on the PS4 and the PS3 only players will load on at least the PS3. I have had several friends, at the lower end of my friend list, that don't have a PS4 but have also been displaced from my friend list on the PS3.

2. Remove the message and notifications from all platforms: PS4, PS3, Vita and Cellphone once they have been read or checked on one of them. I hate loading up my PS4 or Vita to see that I have a message that I read the day before.

So, short of covering it up with tape, how do I shut off the light on the controller? It's usually reflecting off my TV kinda' annoyingly.
