I'd pick up Heavy Rain again for $10.

In the future, you will be able to play PS2 games on your PS4 via "emulation technology." No word if it's through digital means or if you can just pop in your old copy of Final Fantasy XII.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

http://www.engadget.com/2015/11/20/s...ty-to-the-ps4/

Sony and Electronic Arts have a Star Wars: Battlefront PlayStation 4 bundle available right now and with it comes a quartet of games from a long time ago and a galaxy far, far away (or at least as far as the PlayStation 2 era). Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter, Star Wars Racer: Revenge and Super Star Wars come with the bundle via a single download code, and all bar one appear to be the original PS2 games running in emulation.

Update: And just like that, Sony has confirmed backwards compatibility is coming, telling Wired: "We are working on utilizing PS2 emulation technology to bring PS2 games forward to the current generation ... We have nothing further to comment at this point in time."

Meh, would rather have PS3.

I re-posted the Blog Post here. The sequel is also on its way.

Yeah I really don't give a crap about PS2 emulation. But I still have my PS3 hooked up to the same TV, so I don't care about that either.

I bought both of these within the last year, and they're still sealed. Dammit.

PS2 would be ok for me. Even though mine is still hooked up, I never use it and there are some games that came out towards the end I never finished.

We still have our PS2 hooked up and we have a PS3 but if I could use my 2 games on a 4, that'd be a good reason to buy.

Free PS4 Games for December are Gauntlet : Slayer Edition and King's Quest Chapter 1 (I think only giving the first episode is really lame and about equivalent to giving a demo)

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

hmm, I bought gauntlet a while ago. Not a bad game, but definitely not something you'd want to play solo. Kind of short too. I'm glad my PS Plus is lapsing, these freebies have been just so underwhelming lately.

*OH, and if anyone is wondering, I didn't think the $5 necromancer DLC was worth it. YMMV though.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

The games they are giving away recently are a bit underwhelming but they could also be charging us for online gaming and giving us squat in return. To be honest, I download almost every free game, unless I already own it, and have maybe played five of them.

Put in a 2TB HDD. Everything went great until I did the restore. Failed. There should be some way for the system to verify the backup beforehand.

Anyone having trouble with the PSN? I've been trying to buy some sale items and keep getting errors.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

I haven't been on today, but I've seen reports of people getting booted off PSN. I saw other reports of people having difficulty making purchases yesterday, but I had no trouble yesterday other than it taking an hour to download the 8GB game after getting it.

Still getting errors. I'm trying to order AC Syndicate deluxe, Ultra Street Fighter IV, and Super Star Wars using the 10% off coupon they have. Very annoying.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

Once Sony finally fixes the PSN issue it seems like the performance gap will widen due to them unlocking another core for usage.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

I was finally able to order all three games, but I had to do it through the console and not through the website. Worked first try on the console. Very strange.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

They let me buy the games but it's been two days and I still have them downloading. Destiny in particular is taking forever. It doesn't help that in most cases the base game downloads, then the huge patch queues up.
