I got into PSN, finally!

Other than the "network maintenance" I posted earlier, I didn't have any troubles with PSN. No problem signing in, no problem getting kicked out of games, etc.

One touch I did like is clicking the right analog for text boxes. It turns the DS4 into a pseudo Wiimote pointer for inputting text. Nice little addition.

So, after being on hold with Sony Support for 2 hours with out talking to anyone, I decided to return it to Amazon. I printed my RMA then took it to UPS. I stopped by GameStop to drown my sorrow in a new 3DS game. The guy in front of me was canceling his preorder because his wife surprised him with a PS4.

So, I bought it. I have a working PS4!

Just keep hitting it over and over, you'll be able to start adding stuff to your download queue. It'll slowly download.

I just tricked it into letting me download the games.

I kept clicking on Resogun and Contrast but it kept giving me the maintenance error. Well, I finally decided that when I'd click on the game I'd instantly just start hitting the X button over and over and over again and it worked! Even though I still got the error and would kick me back to the main screen, I got the notification that they were added to be downloaded, and they downloaded just fine.

Still better than the Wii U launch, amirite?

Finally got into PSN and updated via the USB. Pretty kickass system. The controller is much better than last gen and BF4 is fucking incredible!

Hmm, has anyone that already has PS+ tried redeeming the 30 day's free code? It keeps saying it's invalid.

AFAIK those codes are for people who aren't already PS+ subscribers.

Just started playing Resogun. I totally forgot that the controller has a speaker on it and at the very start where she calls out "SAVE THE LAST HUMANS" it scared the crap out of me.

Well that's pretty fucking weak of Sony.

I did that at about 1:30 AM with the TV volume almost all the way down...same result.

OK, so now that I'm online with the PS4, I can shed some light on how the networks interact.

You can log in with the same account on a PS3 and PS4 at the same time.

If you're on the PS4, your PS3 friends will not see you as online. However, you will see them online. You can send messages to PS3 users despite this, and they can send messages back to you. The Playstation App works in a similar fashion.

Holy shit, Resogun is amazing. My subwoofer is going fucking nuts.

The PlayStation app doesn't have any sort of remote control functionality that I can find, so I guess you have to do all your Blu-ray / DVD navigation with a controller.

Played a little killzone. Pretty, but definitely not a substantial jump over the best of last gen. Resogun is fun. Not really my usual preferred type of game, but a nice little freebie that showcases some of the ps4's capabilities. Only complaint about the system so far is the light on the ds4. 'My' seat is in the second row of my home theater and this damn controller lights up the back of the seat in front of me like I've got a flashlight in my lap. Will definitely spring for a light-free version if they decide to release one.

So... Maybe the first chapter of Knack is just super polished or something but so far I really dig it. There hasn't been a solid playformer like this in a long time.

Couldn't disagree more about Killzone, graphically speaking, it's a huge jump over previous gen. Gameplay wise, meh, so far though.

Yeah, the app is geared more toward keeping you in touch when you're not at your console than it is something you'll use when you are.

As a side note, I just connected my PS4 to my iPod touch through the app.

I remember reading but forgot, which game was going to have cross platform play between PS3 & PS4?

How long a time are we talking? NSMBWU, LuigiU, Rayman Origins/Legend, Ratchet (Tools & CiT), [Ms] Splosion Man, etc.

Knack feels more like a brawler than platformer to me.

I assume it is DC Universe.

Oh and you can do absolutely nothing in The Playroom without the camera except watch a video about how great The Playroom would be with the camera.
