Has Sony said yet if their camera is mandatory or not?

Yeah, if Sony launches the camera separate, they could easily come in at $100 (or more) less than the Xbox One. That would be a nice option too since Microsoft has taken some lumps forcing the new Kinect on everyone. Believe it or not, there are plenty of people that would still like to use the One as a dedicated gaming console than a glorified cable box with no DVR.

How awesome would it be for the PS4 to launch at $299 with no camera? I know it seems unlikely but that would a huge selling point. Then drop the PS3 down to $149 - $179. Just enough to distance itself price wise from the PS4.

Then again, I could see Sony blowing it and having a bundle that includes the PS4+Camera+Vita for $599.

I already have a Vita, so a console only option would be greatly appreciated.

Yes and he phoned it in. Terrible voice work. They should have hired someone else.

Not going to happen. As others have mentioned, DDR5 isn't cheap. Also, Sony has said they're not selling their console at a loss like they did with the PS3. That already puts the PS4 somewhere in the $399 - $499 range. MS still has the advantage of taking a loss with the XO as they can take a hit on the hardware and make it back up elsewhere (accessories and software sales, Live memberships, etc).

The Wii U deluxe set retails for $349. I don't see a PS4 or XO beating that at launch.

Highly unlikely it will be $499. while not confirmed, the BOM (based on the known tech in the system) for the PS4 is rumored to be about $275. Even if it's over $300, they will still profit from every system if they price it at $399.

Make it $349, blow MS out of the water!

I would say Nintendo too, but right now they're stuck in the kiddie pool anyway.

Don't check the WiiU thread, there are a couple users that think it's the greatest console ever.

It's $275, give or take, for the hardware. That doesn't include how much was spent on R&D, marketing, packaging, and shipping (just to name a few costs).

The "sweet spot" would be $399.

Hey, I own one. Just picked up Lego City for it. But greatest console ever? Nope.

With MS stinking it up right now, this is the sku I would seriously consider depending on how they work together. And also depending on what Sony does with their controller.

I really just want one console for the next generation.

http://twistedpixelgames.com/lococyc...-launch-title/

LocoCycle will be an Xbox One Launch Title!

The Xbox One has finally been announced, with more and more titles being added to the roster every day. Now you can throw a Twisted Pixel title in there too because LocoCycle is coming to the Xbox One. That’s right, son, we’re making a launch title! As soon as you get an Xbox One into your hot little hands you’ll be able to download our next epic adventure.

We’ve always wanted to make a launch title for a new system but haven’t had the chance until now. It’s a pretty cool feeling to know that there will be kids who open up their Xbox One and lose their minds with excitement then get blown away by the first few games they load up, including LocoCycle. We can’t wait!

We’re still making an Xbox 360 version too, so don’t fret if you’re not an early adopter like we are, you’ll still be able to experience the loco. However, the Xbox One version will definitely take advantage of the big jump in horsepower by running in full 1080p at a solid 60 frames per second in addition to countless other graphical improvements.

If you’re coming to E3 be sure to stop by the Microsoft booth to play the Xbox One version of LocoCycle with us! It’s still a work-in-progress, but we’re excited to show you the game!

So those cocksmokes at Twisted Pixel know the release date and won't share it? Fucking assholes. That's the last time I... I got nothing, make more Splosion Man please!

LocoCycle looked highly underwhelming at PAX. It was definitely more Comic Jumper than Splosion Man.

Where and how are you watching it? if watching it at all?

I don't know if it's sad or not but i will call in sick on Monday so i can stay home and watch the press conferences :P

Every year i'm always at work and im always half in half out with both work and the E3 coverage and i figured since this is a very special E3 where new gen is shown i should give it all my attention!

I'll be watching the Microsoft press conference on Spike HD on my 55 inch tv! I've never seen E3 in HD! Even back when G4 was doing it, here in Montreal the G4 channel didn't have it's HD counterpart. So i'm pretty happy about that. To be able to watch it on my couch!

But what irks me is that everything after 5pm is not shown on TV! I'll have to get up and watch the rest on my computer, which is fine and all but i would of liked if Spike could of done the entire day!

They had to return to a marathon of Tattoo Disasters or something that afternoon, which probably pulls in 3 times the ratings E3 will.

I've got a buddy who works at Microsoft, and he snuck me a copy of the script for their presentation:

I won't be buying an Xbox One (geez, what a stupid name), so I'm really hoping that if there is a new Killer Instinct, it will be available on the 360. LOVE that franchise.

Not a chance. Those titles are what make people NEED to get the X1.
