I think Nausicca was complaining about his lack of interest in next gen, but The Verge has a good article on the benefits.

I agree. I think this hybrid single/multiplayer gaming is the most intriguing aspect of the next gen to me since no games have me excited enough right now to make me want to run out and order a PS4.

I saw that during the show the other day and 
at Major Nelson's reaction to being told he only liked the X1 because it was the most recent one he saw.
