Re: Watch Dogs
Well, I'm trying to hack everyone around me by just mashing the hack button repeatedly as I'm walking around, but I inadvertently hacked into something that made it explode, killing a bunch of civilians around it - so you gotta be careful.

Re: Watch Dogs
I did that as well and got the cops called on me. How would they know it was me?
Also, I turned off online invasion yet still had someone invade. It was for a mission though, so.... |

Yeah, a couple hours in and I'm not sure I know what I'm doing yet. On the "crime in progress" things, I go to stop the crime, but I'm "discovered" every single time, only because I have no idea who can see me, as I can't seem to be able to pinpoint the perps.

Re: Watch Dogs
Bought it last night for the 360 - didn't know walmart plasters their name on the games cover artwork now.
Has anyone gone for a swim yet? The graphics (as far as swimming goes) are laughable, like literally, laughable - go ahead and give a shot. The game is actually very enjoyable to play though (so far) I'm at the first apartment in what I guess is the ghetto section of town. So far, it's kind of refreshing actually to play a new type of sandbox game, I'm hoping I end up liking it after playing for a while like I did with sleeping dogs. I actually really like the driving but the on-foot controls are kinda shitty (can't stand how you can't zoom out a little on the character view). |

See, I was under the impression that I'd have to hack someone and then go to an ATM (for money, for example) and use their info there. No? I just get their money instantly? That works. :)
Also from hacking you can steal music. |
Re: Watch Dogs
I'd probably give the game an 8.9 or 9.2. It's no GTA V but there's plenty it does that GTA V didn't do.

Re: Watch Dogs
man, anytime there's a mission where you have to evade someone/police in a car, it takes me like 20 minutes just to do it.

Re: Watch Dogs
The more I play this, the less I'm enjoying it - feels too much like work.

Re: Watch Dogs
Kinda' nit-picky, but also kinda' funny...
I have to say though, if that guy's playing on his PC with the graphics setting maxed, it's pretty sad since it looks a lot better on the PS4. |
Re: Watch Dogs
I can't imagine what it was they worked on during the delay...
I was going to ask if Chicago really had a problem with dried out / rotted telephone poles... |

I wish I could say I'm having fun with it though, but it's been a pretty "meh" experience so far. The AI is laughably bad. They do the dumbest shit. I came across a pile of bodies in a stairwell wondering WTF happened, then I saw what happened, they kept vaulting over a ledge into the stairwell and falling to their death. I've seen lots of oddities with the AI like this too, it wasn't an isolated occurrence. I'm not finding the driving controls bad, but for some reason I'm having a horrible time in fire fights. |

I didn't preorder because I had no idea what to expect with this game. It seems most comments I have read seem to be, one positive, next negative, and so on. I read something and think I got to get this, then I read something and think nah this will just annoy me. |

Re: Watch Dogs
That video was just another bitch fest about how the game isn't true next gen, or they lied to us about graphics, etc. Besides, some of the stuff was wrong. For example, if the cops are called and you try to hide in a car, you can get arrested. I have been. But keep in mind I didn't shoot six people to get them after me either.
As for bad AI, I can agree to that. One lady crashed her car, morphed out of it (it was upside down and on fire) instead of climbing out, and then proceeded to stand next to the car while it was burning until she died from the flames. But I'm still having fun with it. |
Re: Watch Dogs
It really isn't visually too impressive, I don't think it's hardware limitations since Second Son looks way, way better despite more limitations. I'd hate to see how it would have looked if it made it's original target.

I eventually avoided the police by taking the L to the other side of town, then it told me I needed to go to my hideout. After walking/running for about 10 minutes, I realized it was going to take forever to get there by foot, so I found a parked car with no one around it, and as soon as I hopped in, every cop in the tri-state area was after me. I eventually ditched the car and jumped in the river to swim away, but wound up with a helicopter on my ass, hovering over me no matter where I swam. Eventually, I spotted a boat and commandeered it and was able to speed away from the police pursuit. I finally made it to the hideout, but by that time needed to quit for the night. I wish every little 'questionable' thing you did didn't result in a police manhunt. Maybe it will let up as you get deeper into the game, but it's freakin' annoying right now. |
Re: Watch Dogs
The only way I've been able to escape the police is by changing the traffic lights to cause an accident or put up the road blocks to smash their car. I guess you could try driving your car into the water like others have said, but that seems like it's going to take a lot of time to get back where you need to be.

Re: Watch Dogs
Are you being a bad boy, or a good boy?
I'm on the good side of things and am not having that problem. Running from the police is also not that involved, you just need to keep moving fast enough and go where they usually won't; and activate items to stop them. |

again I think having a lot to do is good (where infamous didn't have enough) but you need to strike the right balance ... I've gotten so sidetracked I haven't returned to the main story in hours I guess I should just stick to the main story and play that out and then do all the other stuff after

by the way has anyone else noticed there are no hot women in Chicago anymore (in this game) |
Re: Watch Dogs
I'll never understand griping about their being "too much to do" in a game. When there isn't enough to do people complain. When they have a decent amount of stuff to do but everything is the same people complain. When there is tons of unique stuff to do people complain. You just really can't win.

those resources could be used elsewhere not complaining, just making an observation |

Can you buy a tazer or some other non-lethal way to bring down criminals without shooting them from behind? It doesn't seem sporting and tends to bring the cops out in a damn hurry (as opposed to, you know, the actual crime, which always seems to go unnoticed by law enforcement) |
