Re: Watch Dogs
2 of the online modes were locked with same message for me and the tutorial is part of the story for some reason.
The online stuff is integrated into the normal gameplay as well as far as side missions (I believe). |
Re: Watch Dogs
Anyone else think the "licensed" music for the most part is terrible?

I saw that and it gave me some hope. Also, they could have done a better job of how they implemented playing and selecting songs. And if they wanted to one up GTA they could have allowed the used to make a custom soundtrack.
As for custom soundtracks...well not sure how they could have done that on the PS4 until Sony gets on the ball and gives us MP3 support. I guess they could have used that Music Unlimited thing, but maybe that works anyway. |
Re: Watch Dogs
I just started playing, you know the usual stuff, completed the mission and 3 hours fooling around. And I came here to ask about how to lose the cops when driving... and then I read a few posts.
My main complain is I lose the cops, and then after a few seconds they start searching for me, with the yellow circles, and there's no way to escape from them. I've only tried the side mission where you have to steal a car. |
Re: Watch Dogs
That's the exact part where I gave up. Spend all that time losing the cops and then start the whole chase over again as soon as you touch a yellow circle. Fuck that. It wouldn't be so bad if you could still haul ass to your destination, but the icon dissapears anytime the cops are after you.

Re: Watch Dogs
Do something else for a while and you can upgrade your skill tree for a police jammer

On a side note - what I Really loved about this game is that you can stop people from calling the police when you jack a car....if you hear someone dialing when you break into one, just turn around and they will be labled with a red exclamation mark - run over to them and hit your take down button and Aiden will say "hang the phone up......now" and just like that, no cops to deal with. |
Re: Watch Dogs
You can also just jam their coms, as well as use other hack tools against the police including the pesky helicopters (and I believe the yellow circles - may be effected by jam coms as well)

Re: Watch Dogs
It's weird that robbing people blind electronically or causing a fatal car crash by fucking with the traffic lights don't hurt your public reputation, but if you remotely blow up a steam pipe three camera away and accidentally kill a civilian, your reputation takes an instant hit.

Re: Watch Dogs
I've found that getting a boat is very effective for losing the coppers.
The yellow zone's don't automatically cause the cops to get alerted. The yellow zone is their search area, then you can see a more solid yellow circle making it's way outward. That is your time limit to get out of that Zone. Once it's solid and you're in the zone, the cops are alerted. I think they try 5 scans, so if you can keep out. The chase never happens. Good game so far, not excellent, but now that I'm further into the story and got some of the needless things out of the way i'm having more fun. Some of the Convoys are pretty dang tough though. |
Re: Watch Dogs
The 1 vs. 1 online stuff in this game is really good, a combination between the multiplayer in Dark Souls (your own game world being invaded) and Assassin's Creed (hide and seek). I've barely progressed in the story because I've been doing that plus various side activities.

Re: Watch Dogs
Most of my time has been spent ignoring the main missions and taking down the gangs. It's always a fantasy of mine to roll into Chicago and kill every single gang member. Wish they used real gang names that would make it more satisfying :)

Re: Watch Dogs
over 4 million copies sold in the 1st week. looks like it is a massive hit. http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/06/...pies-in-a-week

Re: Watch Dogs
That's a lot of copies. Nice job Ubisoft.
|
Re: Watch Dogs
Proof that a 6-month delay doesn't necessarily hurt sales numbers.
I'm sure the Batman folks noticed that. |
Re: Watch Dogs
Agreed. Happy for Ubisoft, who have become one of my favorite publishers. Their tent-pole games are consistently high quality, and they've been taking risks in genres that I really like with games like Rayman.
Watch Dogs probably isn't for me, but I'm really happy to see it make a splash. Praying they deliver on BG&E |
