Better this than something you're going to finish in a few weeks and never play again. |
Re: Watch Dogs
The cup game! Oh how it pisses me off. The second round the guy always pulls off some trickery.

Re: Watch Dogs
A lot of comments about the graphics. Not sure if anyone's seen this, but here is a good comparison of the E3 demo to the PC release on ultra settings:
<iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/L_A6Z3gkXlk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Really disappointing downgrade. It's not just the graphical effects, but the whole moody atmosphere of the game seems to have been stripped away. I'll probably wait for this one to go on sale. Thanks for info about AC4 deal, I'm going to buy that instead. |
Re: Watch Dogs
FU guys, some of you.
I was ready to skip this game, and then read comments like this: "I played for 4 hours and only 30 minutes were missions, the rest was just fooling around". THAT'S MY KIND OF GAME!!!! |
Re: Watch Dogs
Is there a good online game manual somewhere? I guess I'm old school and prefer reading the instructions, preferably in paper form.

I did the opening mission then nothing but random fuckery for 3 hours.
I was chasing a thug after he killed somebody and someone called 911. After I beat the thug down the cops came after me! I had to swim across the river and cross two islands to get away. |
Re: Watch Dogs
My buddy told me about a cool sequence where you are playing poker and can cheat. Seems cool

Re: Watch Dogs
One of the cooler things is the ability to shoot someone in the leg while they are trying to flee. They go down for a quick second so you can catch up and you don't get docked for killing them since they are still alive.

Re: Watch Dogs
If you have gamers club at Best Buy, you can get a pretty good deal if you need some other games. I purchased Watch Dogs for $48 then they take $20 off other games, so I got Killzone for $17 and Infamous Second Son for $32 after the GCU and the extra $20. Wish I had traded in stuff at Target now last week and repurchased this week.

also like how oncoming cars with flash their lights at you there are some real nice small touches I haven't seen in other games |
Re: Watch Dogs
I just love that the non-lethal "subdue" option is "beat the hell out of person with your magic stick".

Re: Watch Dogs
Yeah, there's a lot of stuff to fuck around with. I played quite a bit of the chess puzzles, and the digital trip that's basically like the old game Carmageddon. Then there's the coin runs and weird alien invasion video game.
It's kind of the opposite of InFamous, which didn't have a lot to do outside the main missions, and what there was to do was very repetitive. In Watch Dogs, there's a LOT of variety in the side missions and games. Also, the baseball stadium in the game is actually an odd mix of Wrigley Field and Soldier Field (home of Da Bears). US Celluar Field gets no love here, despite the fact the phone plays such an important role. |

Re: Watch Dogs
I haven't played the game but the guys at work tell me that Wrigley has been magically moved in the game to the West side of the Loop instead of on the North side like in real life. No idea if the United Center was demolished to make room ;)

WATCH DOGS HACKS INTO THE UBISOFT RECORD BOOKS
Sure, it’s easy enough for us to call our game highly anticipated. After all, we saw the copious comments from the community and amongst the media – all that lovely chatter about how everyone can’t wait to get their paws on Watch Dogs. And, after a modest delay, we couldn’t wait to deliver Ubisoft Montreal’s innovative take on the open-world adventure. The good news: You really meant it. In its first 24 hours of availability, Watch Dogs sold more copies than any previous title in Ubisoft’s history! |

Annual installments incoming... |
Re: Watch Dogs
I wish they would rotate this and Assassins Creed every other year. Even if they did Watch Dogs in March/April and AC October/November, I still think that would burn people out.

Re: Watch Dogs
I'm enjoying it so far - only completed one mission but loving the side stuff. Hacked two of the CT towers, rode the L around town, and have been taking criminals down. I messed with a bridge near the boat storage area via a camera just to see if I cold crush a car - best was flipping one on its back! I played Just Cause 2 for years because of the "overload" of things to do and discover. I'm not familiar with the streets of Chicago, but I have been "touring" the landmarks in the game. Now, if this had been NYC, that's where I was born so I'd be critical about where certain things were, and if some neighborhoods got downplayed.
