Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

After all of Number 1's tasks for today, I'll have 22,222 emblems, or 278 short of the Stone of Triumph. I've already gone through peoples' towns today tapping on Stonecutter's Lodges so I'm relying on the treasure chest to give me two rounds of 20 for 40 and to catch some of the running Order guys throughout the day for another ~20 or so. That leaves 218 in the hands of the kindness of you all.

Who can help poor story / Spatula earn his way to a chained-up naked Homer animation?

...Not a question I ever thought I'd ask.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Update is up on Android and iOS stores. It seems to only do two things: remove the Stonecutters event and
Spoiler:
give Number 1 tasks.
All July 4 content seems to have come through the earlier in-app update. Anyone holding off on the new update can hopefully squeeze in another 1,000 emblems for tomorrow.

You've gotta be kidding me. I was twenty emblems away from getting more donuts, but the damned game auto-updated before I could finish my last task of the day.

My Nexus 7 defaulted to automatic updates, but I turned them off in the Play store settings. If you prefer that most apps auto update, you can uncheck the box for an individual app in My Apps.

STILL NO LAND!!! I'm completely out of room. So unbelievably frustrating.

I'm sorta glad it's so expensive. I've been wanting a really expensive item for a while now. Wish they'd release the World's Largest Toilet at some point. I bought the restaurant and still have $21,290,710 left. Gotta love that 332% multiplier I've got going

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

*sigh*

The automatic update did me in and I missed my chance today. Also couldn't log in from 10:00am-8:00pm partly because my phone was just plain being weird and partly because it claimed there wasn't enough room on my device for the update (lies!) and I had to delete some little-used apps.

Between that and losing 250 donuts a few days ago, this has not been my favorite Tapped Out week.

That's too bad. I was making one final sweep through neighbors and just saw you were among those who reset to zero and was wondering if that had been by choice.

I guess I'll run my update tonight. I was staying "open" for anyone who wanted some last-minute emblems but not sure how many are out there. Some that I visited tonight had totals so low that they probably gave up on the game a while ago.

Wait, the restaurant costs 10 million? Doh!

I only have 3 million now. I didn't check the prize, I just saw that it was available to buy.

Oh, well. At least all of that will be made up for by today's Mystery Box! Maybe some donuts or Bumblee MaSONUVASTUPIDSTUPIDPARKINGLOTPIECE!

I had a funny moment in the game this morning, though, when a character's random task immediately followed two storyline tasks:
Apu: Hide the fireworks!
Rex Banner: Stake out the Kwik-E-Mart!
Chief Wiggum: Take bribes!

Damn. I thought I was doing good with a 36% multiplier. I've only got 2 mil in money. 332% would be insane. I'm not sure hot to get up that high and not sure if I could without many premium items.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Looks like the 1.4GB of free space on my iPad isn't enough room to download the 40MB update. Seems like a few other people on the EA forums are also having the same issue. So I'm stuck, as there's nothing on my iPad I can delete to make more room.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I was about to update but I noticed Number 1's tasks are still running. I don't think there's any way I'll get another 3000 emblems, though, so I'll probably just move on. No one appears to be visiting for emblems either.

Yeah, I'm at 72% based on the small multipliers I've purchased. Basically, I get the ones that pay 2% and only cost 30-40 donuts. I was planning to get the fireworks barge, but that's 80 donuts for 2.75%. I'm tempted to instead get the cherry tree and have almost enough for that.

I'm at 40.2%. I have yet to buy anything with donuts. One of these days, I'll pull the trigger.

I wonder why they nerfed Tomacco. It now only takes half an hour to grow.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Speculation is that a new crop will be coming in to fill the 1-hour slot.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

If the new crop comes as part of a Quest storyline and pushes my corn early, I'm okay with that, but it would be cool to finish, actually finish, growing corn, actual corn. Only 38 days left and counting!

Do the multiplies stack in an additive way or multiplying? Meaning if my current multiplier is 36.5% and I buy an item that gives me 2.5% would I have 39% or 72%?

Also does the Gulp N Blow count as a restaurant for gluttony? I'm trying to get my star level up to 5. I'm at 4.5 now. Gluttony is at 4 stars and one of my other ones is at 4.5. The rest are at 5 I believe.

Thanks. That's what I thought they did. Was hoping for multiply. But then people would have even bigger multipliers.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

One of the quickest and easiest ways to boost Gluttony is with Khlav Kalash Stands. They're small, cheap, and build instantly.

I have some behind a restaurant so that only the umbrellas are visible. Looks like the restaurant has outdoor tables in the back.

Can't discuss it here too much (don't think it's allowed), but while I purchased a few donuts at the start I haven't purchased any in a long time...if you catch my drift. I just wasn't having fun with the game that way and wanted to be free to really go crazy in my town design. I will say though, all of the money I earned from buildings/tasks, although ill-gotten gains and all of that I suppose.

If you are spending actual money on this game, then you should get the Cherry Tree instead of the Fireworks Barge. 80 donuts for the Fireworks Barge is really a ripoff considering all it does is float in the water and shoot off one dud of a firework into the water when you tap it. The multiplier is decent, but with the Cherry Tree you get the decoration AND a limited time character (George Washington). Personally, I'd much rather have a character than a decoration.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

BTW - With the Stonecutters update, you can see your multiplier in the conformity window. Mine is a paltry 43.05% but that's mostly because I have not purchased any premium items. I could bump it up a little by improving my Consumerism (3.5) and Gluttony (4.0) ratings to full 5-star ratings.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

^ Gluttony is easy. $760 gets me a Khlav Kalash Stand and 10 Gluttony points. Level 42 requires 326 points for a 5-star rating, and if I have 4 (80%) then I must have 260 points already. Need 7 KK-Stands, at a total cost of $5,320. Built 'em, put 4 around the football stadium, 2 at the baseball field, and the last one on my Squidport, and I've got a 5-star rating now.

Consumerism is a little more expensive. AFAIK, the only store I can purchase multiples of is the Kwik-E-Mart. $20,500 and 4 hrs to build to get me 10 points. I have 3.5 stars out of 5 (70%) and it takes 282 Consumerism points to max-out at Level 42, so I must have 200 points right now (282 x 70% = 197.4). That means I need NINE more Kwik-E-Marts, costing me $184.5K. Oh well, I'll build a 3x3 grid of them and stick them somewhere out in my open area. Will know tomorrow morning if I've topped-out that rating or not.
